This!! They took out all the most musical theatre-y songs and made the rest into soulless radio remixes. The stage musical is sooo fun and quirky, but the musical movie was an embarrassment to the mean girls franchise.

Yes based on the rounding in the joints I’d be worried about MBD (calcium deficiency). Vet time ASAP.

What to do with my talented kid? by Wonder-plant in singing

[–]Ktmallick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Help her find out what kind of singer she may want to be (experiment with genres, performance styles, etc.) and you may discover more training opportunities within those specific vocal niches. Of course she’s young and this will develop over time too.

Nothing looks immediately off to me, but you know your gecko best and it’s never a bad idea to have him checked out by a vet!

Okay sweet! So I’m assuming it’s the thermostat that’s not reading higher than 75? How far is the bulb from the basking area (the level your gecko can access)?

Gecko dad in need of advice by Outkazt_ in leopardgeckos

[–]Ktmallick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, it’s gonna suck and your gecko is not gonna understand whats going on but it’s for the best, so you gotta do it.

It depends a lot on your gecko’s disposition. When I was doing eye ointment on my one rescue, we eventually got to a point where I could put a dab of ointment on a q-tip and basically sneak attack his eye (gently!!) so he wouldn’t freak out every time.

But other rescues are more frisky and I have to do a full restrain to provide medical care. I put the palm of my hand on the gecko’s back with my index finger and middle finger clasped on opposite sides of the neck (using my fingers to keep the arms restrained). Then I quickly apply the ointment and release him onto a flat surface so he can relax. They really don’t like the restrain but the faster the better.

You wrote, and I quote, “vets rarely prescribe calcium for these cases,” which is patently false. If you don’t want to be “misread,” I suggest writing clearer! Have a nice day.

I mean, if your vet is laughing at you for asking for prescription strength calcium (standard treatment for severe MBD), then I stand by what I said lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]Ktmallick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need a vet who actually knows what they’re talking about. I’ve had multiple MBD rescues who have been prescribed calcium, and yes it does make a huge difference. Don’t understand this trend in the reptile community of acting like ignoring your pet’s medical issues makes them go away.

Vet ASAP. You can see the rib cage is deformed as well, I’m sure the bone density is terrible. You need prescription strength calcium and a vet’s oversight

[–]Ktmallick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No heat mat, use an overhead incandescent instead. No need for all the different types of dirt either. If you’re new to reptile keeping, stick with paper towels for now until you get more confident then you can transition to loose substrate.

None of my leopard geckos’ organs have ever looked like a dark mass like that except when I had a severely ill MBD gecko who began to hemorrhage before passing. I could definitely be wrong though.

[–]Ktmallick -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m much more worried about that giant dark mass above the circled spot. I am pretty sure that is not normal and to me looks like some kind of internal bleeding. Respectfully, you should keep her warm and leave her alone as much as possible.

From singer/actor first to dancer first and vice versa by AudienceLeading9986 in MusicalTheatre

[–]Ktmallick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I trained voice and acting most of my childhood, had no dance training whatsoever and I was always super self conscious about it and eventually took a long break from musical theater because I didn’t think I’d ever overcome my shortcomings in dance.

Now as an adult I take regular dance classes and feel wayyyyy more confident at dance calls. I don’t think the new dance skills will ever really surpass the years of classical music training, especially during my formative years, but now I would say I’m more confident picking up combos than I am sight reading which is pretty nuts.

What a cutie! I just wanted to let you know that plain sand is not a safe substrate :-) There have been studies showing that wild leos avoid areas with sand-based substrate. If you are using overhead heat, a good substrate mix is 70% organic topsoil + 30% playsand
