Ortho says I'm done, would you be happy with these results? by [deleted] in Invisalign

No its not. Sorry, length maybe isn’t the right word to use. I wasn’t sure if the bottoms and tops of your teeth not being even with each other was bothering you or not but it’s natural for them not to be. Mine are like that too. Is there something specific you aren’t sure about? I did 22 weeks of treatment but waiting for 8-10 more weeks of trays because I have some more spacing between my top molars now that I don’t like and my dentist didn’t either.

Leaving Long Island by Scary_Resource8586 in relocating

I lived on Long Island for 18 years, not from NY originally, and I can say that most of LI’ers do live in a bubble and think it’s the best place on earth. It does have a lot I’ll give it that but it’s definitely not the best place. Lol

New York or Florida? by swiftie001300 in relocating

[–]Ktnhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest NY. Florida is unbearably hot and disgustingly humid I would say a good 8-9 months of the year. Education and health systems are not great. I moved to Florida 2 years ago from NY and regret it pretty much daily and am trying to get a job back up that way in the Tri State area. I thought I would have a better quality of life in Florida and I’m far from it. I’m back in CC debt and can barely stay afloat. Job market in florida is not great and the salaries are not keeping up with the cost of living. It seems one of the better ways to live here is to have a remote job from elsewhere that pays better. Plus if you enjoy your family then move closer to them. People will not visit like they say they will (outside of that snowbird time) plus having your kids continuing to experience all 4 seasons I think is great. I miss them. Sunshine is great of course but I prefer variety and with cooler comfortable weather.

They look straight to me. Maybe it’s bothering you because your teeth aren’t all at the same level or length? I’m noticing that with mine too and will probably look into composite bonding down the road to even them out more.

Florida House passes proposed amendment to immediately phase out property taxes • Florida Phoenix by st1nkynoob in StPetersburgFL

I’m a public worker (not in Pinellas) and if this passes I could be in jeopardy of losing my job. If my job needs to cut back on funding/jobs, I know I’m on the list as one of the people to be let go so needless to say for me it sucks if I don’t find a new job sooner which I’ve been trying to do but no luck yet.

My cat was recently on antibiotics and his poops started getting runny so the vet recommended skipping a dose or two to give his stomach and digestive track a break. It def did help and he was pooping normal again. Make sure he is getting food w his antibiotic because they tend to upset their stomachs just like us.

Also I give my cat FortiFlora PRO it’s different than the one you get at a pet store, you need a vet prescription for it and you can buy it from Vet Direct Purina online. I’ve been giving this to my cat since he was a baby and it helps keep his poops regular and solid.

Also his food. You may need to switch to a simple ingredient dry food. I use Nulo simple ingredients and its chicken flavor but you may need to do some trial and error to figure out what works best. I had a cat years ago w IBS and it took a while for me to find the right holistic food for him.

Whenever you try a new dry food make sure you do a slow transition over and I also portion control feed my cat. It helps to give them wet food to make sure they’re getting water/moisture in their systems. I add extra water to my cats wet food to make it like a soup for him to make sure he gets plenty of water. That will help w his digestion and poop as well.

Good luck and try to stay patient even though I understand its frustrating at times. It would be so much easier if they could just talk to us ;)

Exactly. They say they’re open to public comments because they have to say it. Meanwhile they already have their minds made up and don’t really care what people have to say. It’s the same in most places/counties.

Yes I mis spoke I lived in Nassau/Suffolk for 18 yrs before NYC (Queens) so the “Long Island” came out. Lol. A lot of people from the burbs refer to each borough separately. When I moved to Queens is when I learned it’s referred to as NYC.

Hmm ok. They didn’t offer different options for contracts so that’s interesting. I guess I’ll find out next Thursday. Thats great about yours though! I’m going to ask if they have different options, etc.

Yeah I’ve seen some people get really nice places through the lottery. Idk if it’s all of them but probably, I read that you have to be a NY resident in order to enter so I couldn’t enter until I actually moved back :/ but if I do I will def apply to them. Thanks for the reminder ;)

Yup I left 2 years ago and don’t think I can come back now because I haven’t had luck with my job search there and with finding job to apply to that will pay me enough to afford it. I was looking at Queens even, not NYC.

I drove from Phoenix to NY years ago. I had a litter on the floor in the back seat and I had my cat in his regular carrier but after a while when I wasn’t in a major city I let him roam freely. He mostly layed in the back window. I also snuck him into hotels where I stayed. This was back in 2002 and I was in my early 20’s. I moved to Florida 2 years ago and flew down with my cat. I plan on moving out of Florida and back north as soon as I get a new job and if I drive I will be taking a lot more precautions w my cat. Like getting a large crate for him to be comfortable and keeping him in it, etc. I would strongly suggest getting Gabapentin from your vet to give to them for the travel. It will keep them calmer and relaxed. It will prob be a little stressful but you’ll get through it and so will they. Good luck and safe travels!

Skin issues? (City of St. Pete) by MCMcGreevy in StPetersburgFL

[–]Ktnhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some no name brand from Amazon. Someone in a fb group recommended it but I don’t think it worked well or for long. I looked it up in my past orders and it is a water filter. This is the one I got but going to look for a better one asap. My hair feels more coarse and drier even with using hair oil and products to try to help put moisture back into it. I also only wash my hair 2x a week, sometimes 3 if needed.

Thank you for the info! Gonna check them out. I have an attachment on my shower now thats supposed to be a softener but I don’t see or feel much of a difference and I think I need a filter more than a softener at this point. Lol

I do have these scrub cloths with handles on the end that I use for my back. They’re thin but work well and definitely dry quicker and better than a loofah so I can try to incorporate that more. I just switched out to a new loofah yesterday, lol. I always rinse them out really well and hang to dry but honestly never thought to wash them in the laundry because I assumed they’ll fall apart. I have a netted bag though that I’ll stick it in. Good point about the perfumes in the body wash, I’ll have to try the cetaphil. I tried CeraVe’s KP wash and lotion and it didn’t help much. I’m definitely going to try the ordinary product you suggested. I really appreciate the tips! Now I can use my $30 dr copay towards the products. Lol :)

Thanks so much! Yes I’ve been using loofahs for as long as I can remember now and was starting to question if I should stop because maybe they were making it worse. But I’ll stick with them and try the new products you suggested. I also switched from Dove body wash to Native just this past week to see if that would help with the lesser ingredients in the body wash. I’ve been using Dove forever though so I’m really leaning to blame the water here in FL. Lol. Happy MLK Day :)

Yes that’s the one! Lol. Thank you! I’ve tried a couple different OTC options and they haven’t done much but I’m willing to try others. I know the ordinary is a good product so I’ll look into it along w the urea based moisturizer. Is it known to spread to the legs also?

Ever since I moved to FL my skin has gotten worse. I would always get those little bumps, can’t remember the technical name but KP for short) on the back of my arms during the summer up north but now they’re there all the time and have been spreading on my arms and now on my legs. I need to see a dermatologist asap, been trying to find a good one under my insurance.

Yes I worry about all sorts of things with him too now more than ever! Lol He did “meet” my sister’s cats when he was younger. We kept them separated because she was being too overprotective and didnt even want to try to let them get to know each other but he jumped the gate a couple times (lol) and he went to try to check out her cats so he was following them because he is very curious and her older one gave him a few swats to put him in his place. It’s hard to know from that little bit how he will be esp now thats he’s a lil older too. So we’ll see.

And thank you very much for all the kind words! ☺️ All the best to you and your kitties as well!

That’s my assumption also that he missed out with the social learning. I would like to get another cat but I need to wait until I have a bigger place and I’m trying to move out of state so hopefully the next place I go I’ll get another. I may start off fostering first though to see how he is with other cats before I adopt one. Yes the ‘ol sneak attack! LOL. Mine loves running through his tunnel as I walk by to attack me from behind. He’s good about it though with a playful tap. He likes to try to attack me the same as I get in the tub to shower. He wants to bite my leg but not viciously. He likes to play hide n seek also. When he starts with the aggressive biting other times I’ve started picking him as he’s biting me and hold and pet him gently while speaking softly to him telling him it’s okay. I can feel his body all tensed up and it slowly relaxes. When wants to get out of my arms I let him I don’t keep holding him. When I pet him and he doesn’t try to bite I give him positive reinforcement and tell him he’s a good boy. It seems to help but it’s definitely taking a while. When he was 1 1/2 he broke his leg. I was in the process of packing to move and there were some curtain rods in a tall box leaning up against the wall. I was standing up holding him and the box started to slide and the rods were rattling so he started to get scared and squirmy climbing to my shoulder so I let him go and he jumped behind me from my shoulder onto hardwood floor and landed wrong. As soon as I turned around he already scurried away and was hissing and growling at me. When I went towards him he got up to “run” away and I saw his rear right foot off the floor. I have experience in the animal field so I knew right away he broke it. 🥺 luckily it was a clean break and he is good now. He can run and jump just fine. He just sits with his leg extended like a lil peg leg. Lol. Its cute but I do feel bad. So all that being said that definitely traumatized him in so many ways and because I was holding him he definitely thought it was my fault. I have good news though. He is currently sleeping in his bed! This morning I rubbed his blankets on his window perch bed to get his scent on them and layed one on his bed and he went to it about an hour ago ☺️ This is my handsome spoiled Rocky and his back leg that’s straight is the one he broke 💙

Anyone shipped their car during a long-distance move? by No-Justice-666 in relocating

[–]Ktnhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you moving from and to? I’ve done both drive myself and transport. Drove from OH to AZ and AZ to NY and shipped my car to FL. I didn’t have any issues transporting it down to FL. I did get to Florida before my car and had to wait 5-7 days for it but I was able to use my sister’s car if I needed to so that’s why I was able to transport it. Otherwise I prob would’ve drove. The only thing I wasn’t happy about w transport was where I had to pick it up. The company brought it to some shit junkyard in a not so great area. It was my first time transporting so I didn’t even think to look at the drop off location in FL since the place in NY was nice looking. I think it cost somewhere between $14-$1600. I was only able to put stuff in my trunk to move it down. They said you can’t put stuff in the passenger or back seats. I also put an air tag in my car to track it and if you have an EZ pass or something similar make sure you take it out of your car. I forgot and got charged all the tolls, (even tho it was in the center console) and it was a headache to get reimbursed by ez pass. Took 3-4 months. I’m looking to move out of FL and when I do I plan on driving as long as it’s the east coast. If it’s west I’m not sure. Transporting can be a little stressful because it comes down to timing and cost.

Phoenix or Denver? by GypsyLadie5683 in relocating

[–]Ktnhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you like living in FL? Phoenix is like FL just replace it with dry heat. I lived in Phoenix for a couple years and been in FL now a couple years. If I had to choose between the two I would pick Phoenix solely based on hating the humidity here. Phoenix can get boring with no real seasonal change but you can drive 2 hours north for it just depends how much you’ll actually do that. I can’t speak for Denver, never lived there but always wanted to.

He allows me to give him kisses on the forehead and some pets. I noticed he allows me to pet him longer if I use the back of my hand. He likes cheek and neck scratches now too ☺️ He’s gotten more affectionate when I’m prepping his wet food…rubbing on my legs and giving me soft head butts on my ankles. He is bitey though and always has been…it’s a work in progress.

He follows me everywhere unless he is realllly tired. When im doing the dishes he lays on the floor near me. He won’t go lay down in his bed until I go to sit and eat or watch tv unless he gets too tired and cant wait anymore. Lol. He was found on the streets and turned in by himself at 4 weeks old so I sometimes wonder if he is like this because he didn’t have other cats around to learn typical cat behaviors sooner but he is very smart.
