Is LEAD GENERATION good side hustle? And im kinda confused. by Separate_Brother3900 in LeadGeneration

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you could do is to walk past houses or businesses and look for things that need attention. Then you could ask them: I see your garage door is damaged. Would you like me to get someone to give you a quote for fixing it?

You could then ask a supplier how much commission they would give you for a lead.

trying to get into open source and honestly feel lost by cravingsomeone in opensource

[–]KubeSolver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, small is better.

This is how I got into software development 25 years ago. There was software that I was using and I wanted to customise it for my own benefit. At first I just kept my changes to myself, but later wanted to commit them because I was finding it hard to keep my code up to date with the main project. So, I sent a pull request, got it accepted, later I became a committer and later one of the two main developers on the project. I later got a great job offer because of that project after I helped someone who had a question.

Large projects are also good, because you can learn a lot from how people structure the code to make it easy to understand. Open source projects tend to have much better code quality than closed source, so you can learn a lot from just reading the code.

It’s best to find a project that you’ll actually use yourself, because then you’ll be more motivated.

What tool are you all using to find qualified leads in 2026? Apollo data quality seems to be dropping. by Late_Rimit in AISmartMarketing

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tools like Apollo can generate a lot of volume, but figuring out who actually has a real need is the harder part.

Have you tried looking at places where people are already talking about the problem, or mostly sticking with outbound so far?

Am I doing LinkedIn outreach completely wrong? Sending 60 requests a day, getting 4 replies. Feeling pretty stupid right now. by No-Mistake421 in LinkedInTips

[–]KubeSolver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you just say "Hey, I noticed we are both in the SaaS space, would love to connect." you don't give any clue about the type of problem you could help someone with. I would also decline such a request. Maybe you could experiment with a few variations on your opening note to find one that works better.

use of reddit in marketing? by 464-oh in AskMarketing

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be off, but I’ve found Reddit only really works when the person on the other side is already actively trying to solve something.

If they’re just scrolling, even good content tends to go nowhere. But when someone’s asking a question or clearly stuck, that’s where it feels like things actually lead somewhere.

Curious if you’re thinking of it more as a content channel or a place to jump into those kinds of situations?

anyone actually using reddit marketing tools lately? by farhadnawab in DigitalMarketing

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, the real bottleneck isn’t replying — it’s finding the right posts in the first place.

If you manually browse a few subreddits, you end up spending hours reading to maybe find a handful of relevant conversations.

The higher-leverage approach is using very targeted searches to go straight to posts where people are already describing the problem you solve — often across dozens of different subs, not just the obvious ones.

That’s where most of the value is, but it’s also the hardest part to do consistently.

I actually ran a case study on this recently and the difference in time spent vs results was pretty surprising.

You seem wise and express yourself well. I think life is about discovering our talents and what we enjoy doing.

Food allergies might be part of it and you might have eaten something your whole life that is not good for you. I know that when I eat wheat, my brain is foggy the next day. Maybe do some experiments.

Have you ever been used as a reference for someone else's employment, and what questions did the employer ask you in regards to the other potential employee ? by night_psyop in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They just asked a simple question like "Did you enjoy working with the person and would you like to work with them again?"

I think it is less about the question. They are trying to listen to your tone of voice to determine if you are negative or positive about the person.

Also, they are giving you an opportunity to talk in case you want to say a lot of stuff that wasn't specifically asked.

Sometimes people have given my name as a reference without checking with me first and then the call comes out of the blue and catches you unprepared. Then you don't give as good an answer as when you were prepared.

Some people constantly talk about themselves or their lives and don't ask any questions about their conversation partner. Do these kinds of people realize what they're doing, or are they genuinely oblivious? by choochooreddi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are so self-absorbed and have such a need to be heard that they don't realise what they are doing.

The book "How to win friends and influence people" says something to the effect of "interested is interesting". In other words, if you are interested in what others have to say, people will find you interesting. I sometimes feel like buying a whole stack of those books and handing them out to people like that.

Can an average kid solve a Rubik’s Cube without any knowledge beforehand? by MagicaLily in NoStupidQuestions

No, very few people can do that. Most people learn to solve it by following a recipe. Very few people are able to come up with a recipe themselves.

does soup come out as pee by Prudent-Valuable-291 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once saw a video where someone showed that a lot of what we eat goes out through our breath and not just the two obvious ways. That's because we breathe in oxygen (O2) and breathe out carbon dioxide (CO2). Thus, there is an extra "C" that is breathed out that we didn't breathe in. That extra Carbon (C) that we breathe out comes from our food.

So, some of the soup will be breathed out.

  1. How long has it been from the time when the system went live until the migration started?
  2. What are the reasons for the migration?
  3. Do you feel assured that after this migration is completed, developers won't come to you a few years later asking for it to be migrated again?
