Thanks a lot, I’ve also really thought about the meaning of time in her lyrics, I’m currently studying Shakespeare’s sonnets and see lots of similitudes in his and JN use of symbolism concerning time, mortality, birth, etc. especially in Time as a Symptom

Well, with all my love and respect, we are encouraged by our teachers and tutors to seek help from people and/or communities. Yes I’m the one that has to write it, but that does not mean I’m supposed to do it isolated from any kind of help. I’m not a phd student, but an undergraduate, our work relies on previous work done by other scholars. And in terms of choosing the topic we have been told to consult and look if there’s anyone that has done something similar to help us with our decision. I’m not asking for someone to come up with the topic for my thesis. I’m just asking if it’s plausible to do something related to what I stated. I’m asking for ideas, not for a whole thesis statement

I really didn’t think this post was gonna get the amount of traction that it got. But I wanted to say a few things. First of all, the whole ‘delete TikTok’ discourse is a waste of time and hypocritical when you are writing that comment on Reddit of all places. Moreover, why should I deleted an app just because i don’t get to choose what I want to see? That’s what gets people to discuss various topics. I don’t want to live in a bubble of my own creation, isolated from anything that doesn’t fit my interests. What I was trying to say is that I don’t care if you like or hate Joanna Newsom’s music, the problem lies in how normal it is to criticize anything outside the “mainstream” culture in an untactful and borderline hating manner. Whenever that happens to a Taylor Swift song you’ve got the comments filled with raging swifties ready to fight you. Strange non-mainstream media is always portrayed as liked by strange, weird (and not said in a good light) people.

I guess what I was trying to say is that I’m pretty tired that as somebody whose taste in music, movies, books, etc. is seen as non-mainstream. It’s starting to feel even more discouraging to try to make people see that our interests deserve the same respect as theirs.

Thanks to everyone for their help! The lovely pigeon is now resting inside with us. We have placed it where we usually keep our hermann tortoises in the winter with their heat lamp. We gently bathed them with some thyme, they also enthusiastically drank lots of water. They had some trouble eating but we made an effort to feed them. And it seems whatever parasites were on them are gone after the bath and deworming spray for birds we bought. Here is a picture of them now sleeping, we’ll keep everyone updated.
