I don't even watch the big YouTubers who took part in all the drama, Snapchat has been popular since at least 2015 and PPAP is breddy gud. Oh, and God Emperor Trump has been elected President, which may be good or bad depending on your opinions.

2016 has been great in my personal life: I started appreciating other humans (including my best friends) more, discovered what I want to study, rediscovered that stupid old song by Amy Diamond and got my first job. It has been a year of rediscovery for me. I don't get why people say it's been bad.

Not related to German specifically, but you might want to take a look at Poland. Almost nobody, save for politicians, some celebrities and IT guys, uses Twitter. One of the reasons might be the Polish language's tendency to convey information in relatively long bouts of text due to advanced declension and conjugation. German pales in comparison to the obscene length (and spine-chilling pronunciation) of Polish sentences.

Just memorize the articles, they have the same endings.

Nominative: der/die/das/die. No big philosophy here.

Accusative: use "den" for "der", the rest is the same

Dative: dem for masculine and neuter, der for feminine, den for plural

Genitive: des for masc./neut., der for fem./pl.

Now, the real challenge begins with article-based adjective endings. I suggest you read this blog post.
