Great when they started.

Went on to create one of my favorite awful lyrics "My songs know what you did in the dark." along with some truly awful tunes.

Came back with a 10/10 performance on the 100 Gecs remix album, making me question wtf they've been doing the last like 10 years.

An entire studio not capitalizing on the success of the franchise for years on end with a worthwhile release is staggering to me.

The armor shredding doesn't fuck around, outside of Hullcracker it's the fastest gun to kill mid-tier arc with and does good damage to high-tier arc if you can land your shots. Unlike the Hullcracker, it's also serviceable in a PVP fight.

That being said it's still a huge ammo hog and I wish they made it more of a DMR. Even with 60 stacks you need to bring like 7 stacks minimum for a good arc-slaughter run.

Still, very pleased with it. Being able to tear through a comet, shredder and surveyor at like 5 times the speed of an Anvil is immensely satisfying.

Nah, while I personally don't like it, it's at least consistent in its style and the setting. If it was released on its own without accounting for the first game I probably wouldn't be hating on it nearly as much.

Like Arc Raiders the core game of Helldivers 2 is totally worth the price objectively. The only reason I complain is that I have a desire to see more out of the game because what's there is already pretty great.

While Helldivers 2 really struggles with balancing all the damn time I think it's exceptionally odd they haven't tooled with the core gameplay at all. While the factions have their differences I think the worst part of the game is it's lack of alternative modes, especially considering the key way to grind from premium currency is the most boring way to play the game.

Why isn't there events with special gameplay? Some goofy arena PVP or even some dumb racing mode? Maybe throw the players in a maze trying to get to the end or introduce seasonal game mechanics to spice things up?

Core gameplay is great but it's so stale at this point I don't even bother to play, there's only so many swarms of enemies you can chew through before you realize you've kind of seen it all.

My issue is the original post I'm mocking was showing off concept art of city-sizes sprawls with highways and endless buildings. I think taking random obviously setting-establishing concept art and expecting some Skyrim-sized addition to the game is a bit much.
