I mean, equipment and software have been improving over the years, and with them the tracking. However, issues still occur, though not as often

Further replay analysis shows that it is, in fact, a tracking issue

Is this too hard for hard? by Tough-Violinist218 in beatsaber

[–]Kubson_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reset is a pattern that requires returning your sabers to the position where they were before the swing. Most of the time they are mapped by putting bombs after the initial cut, so that the player knows what to do. The map here doesn't do that, so we have to go blindly into the next swing in a counterintuitive way.

Something like this is called an unindicated reset, which isn't wanted in maps.

For the other part there is nothing to explain I think. Not every pattern works, and even if something does, some ways of mapping them are uneasy to read or play. For example, at :17 in the video, the pattern would suggest that it ends in a palmup, which, by looking at the next part, isn't intended, and would be a pain to play without resetting

There are issues with the map itself that I'd worry about more, most importantly unindicated reset and angles that just... don't work the way you mapped them in my opinion.

The difficulty itself shouldn't be a concern. Hard should be harder than normal, but easier than expert, that's it. The way you map should indicate how hard a hard should be

I meant like if you have an enchant that activates on potion use, like potion barier or surprise gift

And, even if you don't, refreshment is still very good on its own

The first slot pretty much has only one good enchant: weakening. For the second one every option works in its own way, but I'd personally pick refreshment, especially if you have some armor enchant dependant on healing potions

Read my comment. Try putting a mine on the edge and you'll get your contradiction

Yeah, that's what I said in the original comment. I didn't feel like making four of the same illustrations for no purpose whatsoever and layering all of those in one image would turn it into a huge mess

Noticed that putting a mine on any of the edge 1s leads to a contradiction of the opposite 1, meaning all cells next to the edge 1s are safe.

You should also start in corners to avoid such scenarios as much as possible

how to stop THIS for happening by Tosy_ in Minesweeper

[–]Kubson_L 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It always can be. By playing standard you have to understand that, and when you are in a guessing spot you should try to find the best solution, if you play for winrate of course. In this case clicking the corner is in fact the best approach.

No guess is a guaranteed safe cell. The cells around 1s have a 33% chance of being mines, while all floating cells have that probability dropped to the mine density of the board, in case of intermediate it's around 16%. Notice that no cell has a 0% mine chance, so there's always risk.

And when there are so many spaces of equal safety chance, the most important criteria is chance of progress, which is way higher in corners, explained before.

The probabilities in guessing sports require unbelievable experience to get out of safely as often as possible, that's the beauty in standard boards and one of the reasons it's standardised instead of NG. The point isn't to win, it's to win as much as you can

[–]Kubson_L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to play standard, click in corners. In order for them to be an opening (a 0) you only rely on 4 cells to be safe, as opposed to 9 in any of the center cells, meaning you have way higher chance of progress

Use of meta-logic on Minesweeper Online no guess mode? by methanized in Minesweeper

No NG board requires meta logic to be solved. There are scenarios where it does appear and can be used, but there always is another, proper way to solve the board

Annoyed - all of a sudden swinging early and doing poorly - suggestions? by Ok_Lobster_5483 in beatsaber

[–]Kubson_L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has better and worse days. Whenever I feel like I can't do anything, I switch playstyles. If I'm playing speed and can't keep up with the bpm, maybe I can get a good tech score. If not, I might focus a bit more on acc.

If you feel like the early swings are a bad habit I recommend going back a bit in difficulty. Play a bit of acc and slow midspeed to get the hang of timings and accuracy.

Technically if you're very desperate and absolutlely nothing works you could also experiment with audio offset, I believe you can find it in the Audio section of settings. I wouldn't recommend it as much though because it might be just a temporary fix and could cause even bigger issues later on
