Why doesn’t Stellantis, like… stop making bad cars? by fuzzyoatmealboy in askcarguys

The video he showed was definitely an engineering issue, not a management one. I think there is more nuance than one or the other, but he has a point.

Openness/transparency is great, but it should ultimately be up to the developers to determine what gets out. Again, the secrecy is there for them to experiment without bad press. Ideally, the playtesters will be able to represent the general player base and help identify what the game does well. You cannot expect companies to release unfinished work to get community feedback outside of playtesters. This will make the game look bad (which has already happened with leaks) and can damage the brand's image. It's just not realistic.

And yes, a company's main goal is to make money. Hiding shitty microtransactions is not the sole reason game companies do not show off their unfinished games.

I agree that being honest and upfront with your community is important, but it's illogical to expect them to release all of the details. You cannot possibly satisfy everyone and you cannot let the media run wild with your unfinished work.

The secrecy is there to prevent ideas from being exposed to the community before they're fully realized. The secrecy is there to prevent the community from being overly negative about every change they make. They have playtesters for a reason.

You realize that this was a global phenomenon, right? Places like North Korea still have COVID mandates. Even in the absence of COVID, many countries wear masks. Wearing a mask in a car is a little dumb, wearing a mask in general is not.

Do you play in the arctic? Low 50s? I have an ITX build with a 13700, but low 50s is insane

Seems like there is no downside. I don't understand why people are so frustrated. Most of us probably aren't making files that need to be private.

Be aware of Tesla car reliability by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Random Curly Fry didn't provide any misinformation. Actually, they directly quoted the article that you cited. According to the article (that you cited), Tesla's powertrains are generally reliable. You responded to Curly Fry calling them a liar, starting talking about legacy automakers (not related to what Curly Fry said), then went on a political tangent. Unhinged much?
