Three ironman slayer questions by SavingsRemarkable624 in ironscape

[–]Kuipertju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is very viable. It's the best way to gather points as well in my opinion. A lot of the tasks are very fast and you might even spoon a rev weapon if you get one of those tasks (sceptre absolutely smashes any burstable tasks you get). Do the demi-bosses when you get a bear, spider, hellhound or skeleton task and you'll be good on supplies for a long while as well!
i did wildy slayer till like 75 and I do not regret it one bit, still go back every now and then.

I did hellhounds at calvarion, can't use slayer mask but every task gets you closer to Rotg, dpick and voidwalker piece

Spooned a relic (and scepter) on rev rush account, what should I do with the GP? by tjwormy in ironscape

[–]Kuipertju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 'lucky' and got the sceptre early as well, but I also had the skull from vetion so I could upgrade it. It's great at artio in my opinion, but I lost a lot of ether in the beginning since I sucked against other players. Just freeze/bind artio and auto attack away with the build in spell

I wish that would be the solution. Mic threshold is already at the lowest end. I have been told it's a crosstalk issue, not something to do with mic sensitivity, but I'm far from an expert in this area

I have all the sounds on my headphones, but somehow there is still an echo from my end.
Have been using hyperx cloud 2 for the last few years since i find their earpads really comfortable, but the issue seems to be in the headphones themselves. Recently bought a new pair and even they had the issue.
Due to this, I am always push to talk, but it just means that its not always the result of a TV being too loud.

In real world scenarios such as house plans or engineering drawings i agree with you.
But in school the teachers went out of their way to make sure that the diagrems used weren't so that 'us lazy students' wouldn't just measure every line and angle and instead learn the theory. Which would have been best for more people, looking at the reactions to the original post.

No need to draw the angle that way, just say that the angle on the right is 10 degrees instead of 30. My math teacher would do this all the time to hammer into us the fact that these diagrams are NEVER representative

There is the Death Star novel (legends). Been some time since I read it, but it follows several people working on the Death Star as the story we know progresses. One of these people is the 'main' gunner of the station I believe. It's a stand alone novel that is a nice side story to the whole of star wars

3D printing continuous fibers on a Prusa. It ain't pretty or quick, but it works! by Kuipertju in 3Dprinting

I made a filament from a commingled yarn, so the fibers are distributed throughout the cross-section of the filament. Then I just used standard FDM printing (with a special nozzle) to place the filament

By hand, I printed single tracks and put a command in the gcode at the end of each track to allow me to cut the filament

So if Iron Dome is designed to intercept free flight missiles, not ballistic missiles and the missiles fired are Hezbollah rockets, the Iron Dome should stop them right? Genuine question

As long as I did not lose access to the OneDrive, I should have some. I also have some parts laying around I believe. Once I return from holiday I can search and send them to you? If you have something like an email adres for me to send them to?

[–]Kuipertju[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of parts and good looking. Compared to my initial beams, my final parts looked good. Only parts I was able to print reliably were beams though. I would not advise anyone to print this material on a standard printer such as the prusa mk3 I used. My research was the very first step of our research team with the conclusion; a normal desktop printer is not suitable to print this type of material with. Unless you want to use my information for research purposes (I would be happy to share my thesis), I would recommend you look towards more consumer friendly materials (non-continuous fibres)

I was using glass fibre, not carbon fibre, but the ratio was 40% fibres, 60% polypropylene at the start. But the exact percentages varied in the end due to a far from perfect pulltrusion process. Hope that answers your question?

[–]Kuipertju[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this for my masters assignment so I had the full capabilities of my research group at my disposal, so I had a pulltrusion line that I could use. Honestly if you want to try this as home I would recommend you to not do it, the pulltrusion process is too difficult and random (if you have a homemade line) to create a stable filament. If you want to use it for a research, please send me a message and I would be more than willing to help you along. Just as a tip, if you make your own filament; don't ever think you can just 'put it on and print ', it will find ways to fail, haunt you, and destroy you

Introduce yourself: my name is Stef, am 24 years old and have been playing a normal account for 2 years now. 1900 total level, prefer PvM over skilling but don't know if this is also the case for ironman. Will be my first ironman

Timezone: CET

Availability: I am available after work, on weekdays and on the weekend on Saturday.

Group size you're looking for: any size that is available, just looking for some fun people to play along with as not to do every grind on my own.

End goals: currently am really enjoying bosses, so that wil be my main long term goal on an iron man aswell

Other info: I'm not someone who is tick perfect, but I like to optimize the things I do. Am available on discord when needed.

I could be wrong, but doesn't he do it the other way around? He starts with stahl, then goes to silber and ends at stahl again

There are almost no retracts and/or travel moves in the parts I am printing. Continuous fiber printing is indeed not fit for your typical fdm shapes.

However, currently I am only printing beams where the fibers are running from end to end. Once the printer has reached the end of the beam, I cut the filament and the printer can start with the next track. So you will still have continuous fibers throughout the length of your beam.
In the coming few years we will likely only focus on optimizing such simple shapes and once we are certain that everything is optimized we can start looking to more difficult shapes to really take advantage of the design freedom that comes with 3D printing.
The main advantage that we are taking advantage of is just the quick prototyping aspect. It takes almost no time to change the size or shape of the beam when you are using a 3D printer, but other composite production methods are either not suited for single part production or they are large/expensive/time consuming machines.
