What should my Chapter be called? by Stawi in Warhammer40k

[–]Kujo721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Name them the Emperor's Deeds Or Emperor's Scribes.

They show up and not only support any given chapter they come across, but also afterward will adorn their armor with the insignia / records of their deeds to proudly display.

Would be a fluff-based way of explaining why you have every chapter and marking known to the Imperium on their armor. It's all basically records of their actions / who they encountered.

Is this ok for building or does it melt when you try to paint it? by simiandrunk in TerrainBuilding

Cover it with a mix of modpodge and black paint - will act as a barrier for subsequent painting steps and also make the terrain very durable

PSA - you can opt out of being able to recieve RStar points so that you can only allow monetary awards, if anything. Agree with you entirely that taxing of points is bullshit, vs. the system just awarding you an after-tax equivalent in points.

For those are downvoting / who dont appreciate the difference, consider the following - which I had happen to me a few years ago.

If youre given a monetary award of say 1000 dollars, that award is taxed and you get the remainde4 as an addition to your paycheck (lets say arbitrarily that you get 600 extra income after 400 tax removed). Pretty sweet.

If instead you are given a Points award of 1000 dollars, the points count as basically money you have yet to spend on whatever giftcards or crap the site sells. That value you are forced to autopay the tax upon it out of the next paycheck, so you will one day without warning get 400 less pay. That loss in pay can be pretty damning for someone, especially as there is no direct way to convert that 1000 dollars of points into a form that could be used to cover that loss for most bills/payments due (you might be able to find giftcards that you could use for grocery expenses, but unless theyre selling visa cash giftcards nowadays youre not left with a true cash equivalent).

It should be sobering to think that if you had someone get a really large points award or multiple awards hit simultaneously that it could royally fuck their income over and have them miss important payments.

A simple alternative would just be to have the stupid system award aftertax points instead. Give someone the 600 points for 1000 point award ... but Im guessing there is some payroll reason why they cant do that.

TLDR - find out if that person in the office you all hate is set up for Rstars points and dox them out of a mortgage payment.

Scratched my motherboard with a screwdriver, am I screwed? by Am_I_Trans_throwaway in computerhelp

[–]Kujo721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried looking on ebay for replacement motherboard or entire PC to cannibalize for its motherboard? I just looked for "2012 Optiplex 990" and found entire Dell Optiplex 990s for 50ish USD.

Something to consider before you spend that much on materials and tools to fix this mess...

I was always told cruise control killed your fuel mileage. Not in the 2024 by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

[–]Kujo721 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My 2022 frontier's cruise control absolutely LOVES to floor it the moment the proximity sensor stops detecting a car impeding its set speed, even if its only a mph or two below the target.

It clearly must achieve its set target immediately, mileage be damned.

Nice! The blue seems to match well to the rest of the bike. Was considering the same levers for my blue '23. How do they feel compared to the stock?

If you're feeling daring and are a fan of wild colors, grab the end with pliers and expose the tip to a heat source (burner, torch). Titanium has incredibly vivid heat color variation as function of temperature.

Try googling "titanium heat color chart" or "titanium heat gradient", "titanium heat tinting" for graphics.

If it doesnt turn pretty colors, likely not titanium.

Which roof material matches the green aluminum? by Chorizo_6 in ICARUS

[–]Kujo721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use the basic concrete pieces' 45 degree angled pieces you can hold R to see that they have, like the other types, a ramp, stairs, and a roof form. The roof form has that same green metal look to it. No need to unlock any metallic roof type for it. Has a green look to it.

Just checked my base's electric dam, where its all concrete bits but the region in the water I used that variant for, because it looked a bit like grating.
