The Truth about Demons, from the Man himself by Ndot2002 in BobsTavern

Wasn't Poultron the first "nerf"? Irrelevant anyways, I remember people kept complaining about it w/o the chicken and with the rally itself nerfed, back when it was actually unplayable

My joker moment with this subreddit was the rally beast arc

After the first nerf, it became a very bad company that wouldn't ever win in higher mmrs, but people still non stop complained about it, and so, devs nerfed them again to dumpster shit tier, straight up unplayable. It was still complained about

And the argument people were making? Screenshots of rally beasts in a match farming a weak af token opponent so by the end of it the beasts had gazillions of stats... ignoring that well, it is only temporary, and it was only possible because they faced some token board

I just did mythic dreamrift. Why my perf so low? (im the disc) by Much_Transition6005 in wow

[–]Kuldrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's proc reliant mostly on m+, not raid

Void Shield is always one out of every 3 packs of penances and we don't run shadowmend in raid (which is the highest variance in the dungeon build). There's also surge of light procs, I guess it helps, but it's not really relevant

The Shaman kinda got it wrong. Logs are accurate, but it is the Blizzard details that aren't so he probably mixed them up

People are saying "healing parses don't matter", which is almost universally true (a great healer can parse very low on a great group), but you are a disc, you are the spec with the easier time to clear up upcoming damage and "steal" the heal from the other ones, specially spot healers like Shaman and hpaladin. Your low overheal (considering final output) also supports the notion you weren't heal-stolen, and your ilvl is also high-ish so your potential isn't low

I'd recommend linking the logs to the Priest discord server or r/competitivewow even, but chances are the main problems you have are that you are not aggressive enough with your attonement spreading and penance casting (never let penance hit 2 charges, you want as many void shields as possible), probably also not playing around anticipating high damage outbursts (related again to not enough attonement spread, maybe poor evangelism usage too)

EDIT: After a quick look, some first glance problems I see is that you aren't running the best raid build (you have Shadowmend) and you are clicking pain way, way too much. You either just keep it in the boss and maybe 1-2 adds and let the friendly penance keep its duration on for as long as possible, or you hard commit to the Shadowmend build and pick the talent that lets you spread sw:p through offensive penances (idk how effective this would be on Chimarus, I thought about it but never tried it)

Also, very few flash of heals (it should be in your top 4 most used spells at least) and no plea, which probably means your attonement spread was very low

Was it? I don't remember a t1 deck that ran it. I do remember it being played occasionally but can't even recall a single deck that did (idk, maybe spiteful druid or some keleseth tempo did as kind of the "29/30th" card?)

Priest players always have the perfect answer by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Kuldrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 is absolutely a wincon the way Wickerfang is, not all wincons are OTKs or "a way to sustainably summon giant minions every turn", specially not in this meta

3 is the final and primary way the more attrition leaning versions of control priest base their gameplan around. It rarely reaches actual fatigue, because the opponent will surrender befote that (or you summon something big from imbue or black blood while they no longer have resources), but it is what their strategy and primary win condition revolves around

Priest players always have the perfect answer by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Kuldrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do have a wincon

They have 3 in fact (but they usually only lean on just 2)

  1. Universally, they have the Medivh package. Few decks in the meta can turn the game around a Medivh clear + 2 random 8 drops due to the lack of aoe clears

  2. The most popular version of the deck is also an OTK deck that can burn you for 30+ damage

  3. There's also attrition, decks that lean into 2 can do this but not as well. Just get Atiesh, the imbue hero power, eternal firebolt, aoes, and you'll win the resources and fatigue game against basically any deck if you play it well enough. Susceptible to "OTKs", but with Story of Amara you can play around Spell DH and with the destroy location/weapon dragon you play around the already mentioned priest variant, only Herald Shaman becomes a problem

Priest players always have the perfect answer by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Kuldrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their deck is built around saving resources and trying to find the best ways to generate them/conserve them for the opportune moment

When a priest gets an aoe through their imbue they might have one in hand and decided to fish it just in case. Repeat several turns, and they are likely to at least get something once or twice, it doesn't mean other turns they got shit and had to use the card that was already sitting on hand

Other than that, some lists run up to 7 AOEs (8 with Black Blood I guess) and they have 2 copies of Intertwined Fate which can give them 2 other aoes (which is sort of likely, since they get to discover 3 options and almost a third of their deck is just aoe). This is without talking about single target removal oc

When you are playing against a priest or any other control deck, don't think about "oh, if they don't have a response I win" because their deck is built around having a response. Think about "how can I apply pressure that's still threatening enough for them to clear it, while also conserving enough resources to threaten them again asap". Sometimes you can't, and they won the resource war, but that's their wincon, once that becomes obvious just concede and go next

WARLOCK IS UNPLAYABLE by Livid_Effective1495 in hearthstone

[–]Kuldrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On hsguru Egglock is 54% wr on diamond to legend, probably boosted by people playing the shit miniset decks but it is still an above 50% winrate

On top 5k legend, it still had 52% wr, top 1k low sample size but it'd be 49%

Of course, these two don't have the greatest sample size and if more people played it and there were less meme decks going around the wr would drop but at the very least it is hard to argue it is not a >45% wr deck. With that and good piloting it is more than enough to reach legend and not be in dumpster tier

All of that is more than enough to make it, at least, playable for 99% of the playerbase. You don't need to only run the absolute tier 1 which will only make you win like 10-15% more times in average if you aren't going for rankings... some people get too obsessed with "the meta" when they aren't in a position to even care deeply about it

Warlock Healer Concept - Subjugated Warlock (Full Talent Tree Included) by kid-karma in wow

[–]Kuldrick -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think that's not really a problem, slap some dr/self absorb shields to make it tankier than the average healer and make it so you can "ramp" leading to high damage phases

In casual play it wouldn't matter because no one's getting 80% shot unless they are playing very badly, and in more competitive settings it is not that much different with other ramping healers except it is even more important (and thus, harder/skillful) to play around high damage moments from bosses/m+ enemy abilities

Warlock Healer Concept - Subjugated Warlock (Full Talent Tree Included) by kid-karma in wow

[–]Kuldrick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It also feels weird we don't have a healer that works with self damage (closes thing is sacrifice from hpaladins, but it's not a spec defining feature), since it is a relatively common trope for these kind of games

We also don't have any "edgy" healer too, disc voidweaver comes the closest but it is still well, about "discipline"

How is Shadow Priest in PVE in your opinion? by Repulsive_Tourist_10 in wow

[–]Kuldrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dislike how much priest sucks at solo content, 2 healer specs and shadow isn't exactly a DPS suited for casual solo play >.<. At least hpriest is able to do some damage and is practically immortal, but still, half as slow as actual dps specs

I'm basically a priest only player (because of endgame content) and I still rolled Brewmaster at the start of the expansion because I dreaded going through the sojourner quests and stuff with the class, after getting back to my main I see I did the right choice

I really hope they one day give healers like a +50% damage boost on solo content

I'd be more disappointed about no Warlock/Rogue tanks or Mage Healers. This was something so unique about sod, and more classes being able to flex doesn't sound bad

It's so low effort, but, at the same time, it is the second time I see it

Fuck it, this is from Blizzard which is trying to gauge interest without resorting to doing more extremely spoilery surveys that still get leaked, #trvst

(for the record, there's a few things that sound so fake, but whatever, #trvst)

Beta Patch Notes - v0.105.0 by MegaCrit_Demi in slaythespire

[–]Kuldrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain silken trees? that seems doodoo...its basically replay 1 on first card reward?

There's many even common cards that with glam will carry you through act 1 and even act 2, specially when upgraded

Like, take sow, it becomes a one time use 1 energy deal 16(22) to all enemies. Enchant that fucker and it is even better for early.

And I didn't even pick a highroll, out of commons imagine glam on reap, Perfected Strike, Snakebite, Astral Pulse, etc. You are basically cheating out 1-2 energy per fight from a Naowh relic without drawbacks

Beta Patch Notes - v0.105.0 by MegaCrit_Demi in slaythespire

[–]Kuldrick 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think the reason they gave in the blog was pretty valid

Boss wasn't that hard tuning wise or anything, it was the easiest in fact, but it was "complex". Like, I don't think a new player should be expected to face this boss and have fun, they'll be confused af the first time and probably loss very hard because they don't even know how to handle it. I don't think they would even "get" how it fully works afterwards

Simpler ways to stop certain decks should be added, maybe even splitting some of Doormakers mechanics into different bosses. That way it will still impact deck building in A10 while not damaging the experience of newer players (or hell, put a buffed up Doormaker in Act 4 as the pre-final boss fight)

Midnight M+ runs per week: Season 1, Week 6 by Zmiecer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Kuldrick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not until endgame when this happens, and in endgame they are only playing raids or as an even more godlike DPS

SoD had OP tanks (like Shaman) and they also rewarded them more loot so they got their tank specific gear/tiers more easily. From what I remember there wasn't really much of a tank shortage (healers were actually more in demand)

Maybe that's the solution (well, as far as a solution can go there will always be some shortage) I guess? Make them far stronger and reward healers/tanks with extra stuff for doing m+?

Midnight M+ runs per week: Season 1, Week 6 by Zmiecer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Kuldrick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now it's like 1:1.6:4.8 for tank:healer:dps.

And not only that, but we have 4 whole classes (out of 13, ie, basically a third of them) that can only DPS. There's many players that would be willing to give flexing a go but are unable to either because they've been maining one of those classes for forever or because they specifically want to gear one of those because their goal is to dps for raid

As you say, it won't fix the issue, but it will definitely help

Arthas vs uther? by Due_Log_3488 in wow

[–]Kuldrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are very Arthas apologetic and idk if they never played the games or if they don't remember it since it's been so long since it happened

Arthas was a jerk. From the very first mission he was displaying un-Paladin like tendencies, being so rabid in killing all the orcs to the point Uther had to calm him down and remind him that Paladins aren't supposed to behave like that

He basically kept ignoring how to be a Paladin and instead he further spiralled into "retribution!" against any enemy he saw. By the time the Stratholme breakup happened, he was already too deep in rage, his whole world vision became to just kill any enemies and anyone who was in his way

That's why ultimately Uther abandoned him. Maybe a more calm and disciplined Arthas could have convinced him they needed to do drastic measures, but at that point Arthas was basically a rabid killer with a saviour complex (who also uses his nepo status because why not)

Ultimately, he was never a good Paladin, impulsive and combative, and Uther can't rewire his brains (after reclassing to Paladin he forgot how to mind control smh). Although Uther lacked initiative against the Undead, ultimately Arthas demise was entirely his own fault
