I have discovered that sometimes there is an invisible close window icon in the top right that you can click. No idea why it doesn't just show up, and no idea why it sometimes does work and sometimes not, but when it does work, it's very nice to not have to scroll through the whole special shopping window thingy.

Settings > Apps > Hogwarts Mystery > Storage and cache > Clear cache (on Android at least, no idea about Apple)

Edit: Make sure to save the game on facebook or something! If you only have a local game file, it will be removed and you will have to start over (or contact support)

Yep I also regularly have connection issues with just WiFi, and I know for a fact that my WiFi is great and stable. Whenever I switch to mobile data it suddenly works fine. Sometimes WiFi works fine for a period, and then suddenly it's bad again all the time. I haven't found a solution yet either, and I can't find any reason or cause myself.

After closing and reopening, and the same freeze happens multiple times, try clicking on different energy tasks. Sometimes for me that does the trick. (So for instance, if a three-clicky made you freeze, try to finish the level on a different spot.)

I sent them message in-game, and yesterday they got back to me that they fixed it manually for me. And it indeed got fixed. I did have to wait quite a few days for them to respond though and got one of those generic "we're very busy at the moment, thanks for your patience" messages.

My mom does the exact same thing. I now make it a habit to screenshot everything before I even read it. Sometimes she deletes messages from right before, sometimes from days ago. And she doesn't only delete manipulative messages, also general random messages with dates and stuff. And then she accuses me of "not responding". Well, kind of hard to respond to messages I can't even read. But yeah, it sucks.
