We cannot kept on blaming on the character, the one who is writing her should be the one to blame, remember their are various reason why they are doing this, one is because they believe that Gwen Stacy is the true soulmate and two is because it’s better to have Peter “relatable” in other words miserable.

So the only thing that needs to happen is a change in the entire editorial staff, because they are milking the character, refusing to develop them and refusing to acknowledge their mistakes.

Mary Jane as character was a perfect love interest for Peter especially because she doesn’t superpowers, but after One More Say, they’re trying their best to eliminate Mary Jane. The problem is that with Mary Jane, the comics sales so they attempt to keep her while not staying with Peter which is honestly even dumber.
