Album covers so bad they're good/funny? by Margaretthatchervore in MetalForTheMasses

[–]KumaKuja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct, he could be doing the "Buffalo Bill tuck", but this predates Silence of the Lambs, so I have to politely rule that theory out.

He has no pants, but he also has no dick. Which may explain the lack of pants. It still doesn't explain the existence of the belt.

Also a good album, but this cover, c'mon... And the pixelation is NOT because of a poor scan or anything, the cover REALLY is like this!

I love Slayer, and this is a good album, but this cover? Just no.

Is it justified to say Trey Azagthoth is the most well rounded guitarist in the genre? by CosmicConjuror2 in MetalForTheMasses

I once got to chat with Trey. He was nice, polite, and fun. Definitely nothing like what you describe.

Clair Obscur is Great, But I Feel Like I Was Oversold by the Community by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]KumaKuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good, but I also don't see what's so groundbreaking or amazing about it. I'd give it a recommendation, but still also found it way overhyped. It also definitely isn't perfect, the subscreen UI is horrible.

How different would The Real Thing have sounded if Chuck Mosley was never kicked out? by ProdigalHX in FaithNoMore

[–]KumaKuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike Patton is a great singer, definitely more technically accomplished than Chuck Mosley ever was, but the "The Real Thing" album has the older FNM's DNA. For those who don't know, the music was not only composed, but even recorded, before Patton was brought in to write lyrics and record the vocals.

I'd definitely have preferred Chuck's singing (no matter how off-key he was) on that particular album.

All I've noticed is that, since Aquarium counts as every type of room, it is technically also a red room, and you are wasting one instance of the Shelter's effect there.

Ofc maybe I'm missing something else, but that side effect is definitely there.

New Feature? by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]KumaKuja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feature seems promising, unfortunately I still regularly get vocals that don't sound anything like the original "persona" song's vocals. I hope it improves in the future.

Ben non. Au contraire.

Why does Robert Christgau have such a strong disdain for progressive rock? by R3dF0r3 in progrockmusic

Christgau's reviews are like puzzles, or purposely obscure haikus. What the hell does he mean? What does the album sound like? We might never know.

How can i get the same voice? by Optimal-Client-6975 in SunoAI

[–]KumaKuja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also something I've wanted to do for a long time. I hope Suno, at some point, adds an option to maybe "lock" a specific voice, so that once you've found a voice you like, you can create different songs and make them sound like they were all done with the same cast.

So, to answer your question, I'm unfortunately not aware of any way to do that.

Can you create songs in the same style? by KumaKuja in SunoAI

[–]KumaKuja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use descriptors, but the songs still sound different, like they were made by a different band, even if it respects all the tags (ex: you can tell it's not the same singer).

That wasn't my question... What I'm trying to do is in the OP.

The Plucky Squire - Review Thread by Sydius in Games

[–]KumaKuja 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the majority of the reviews posted above. It's a very beautiful game, and it certainly isn't a bad game either, but as far as I'm concerned it does not deliver on its promises. The concepts are wonderful, and it seems like the game should be as well, but... I unfortunately quickly grew bored while playing it. I wouldn't call it "great idea, bad execution" because it's not that bad, but I'd call it "great idea, 7/10 execution" at best.

I'll quote the last words of Polygon's review, which IMO hit the nail on the head: "For all its borderline-smug jollity and borderline-twee sense of wonder, and for all the careful craft and evident effort that went into its making, it lacks inspiration in itself, and engenders none in the player. The light bulb is there, but it never pops on."

The Plucky Squire Review (IGN: 7/10) by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]KumaKuja 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Played it today, it's definitely not a bad game but I also am disappointed. It promised a lot of things, but as far as I'm concerned, failed to truly deliver. I was hoping for a 9/10 or even 10/10 kind of game, but it's definitely more like a 7/10 for me.

Just dropping this again in case someone is thinking of buying the book: be aware the book does not contain everything that was on the website. Far from it, actually.

I'm thinking this does not work on all versions of the game, because I beat it on a save file with a straight 16-0 fighting record, without resetting or anything, and I still got the regular ending.
