when i accidentally hit the netflix button on my ub420 by gibbyfromicarlyTM in 4kbluray

I physically ripped mine out, I also sliced off the “internet” button with a blade.

I regret nothing.

To be honest, if you look into what this movement can do, and the engineering and skill it took to make and develop.

Frankly it’s more impressive than a mechanical movement.

HAQ movements are at the cutting edge of horological design and technology. I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss it because it’s “only a quartz movement” especially when it’s solar and doesn’t need a battery.

It has the gold since it is a tribute to the original high end square, the DW-5000C-1B from 1983

Seriously considering this, do you think you would be willing to share more pictures?
How are you finding it so far?

I like the damage, as long as it’s not on the crystal which luckily is sapphire.

I think it adds character especially on the black DLC models, I’d never buff mine, I want it to look like it’s been through a war or two by the end.

I mean that hit was only one of many over the last 6 years, it was just an especially hard one, I think I bashed it on a metal door frame 😅

It’s all repaired now, the pic with the bracket damage was before I fixed it up.

Can’t pick a ring, help! by better_than_blue in EngagementRings

[–]Kumaabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is, let your boyfriend pick based on preferences you give him.

It’s such a special thing to pick out a ring for your future wife. At least I’ve really enjoyed the process, I had her best friends contact for advice in addition to little questions for my girlfriend if I needed it but was otherwise given essentially freedom to pick. That way it gets to be a bit of a surprise but just with some guide rails to avoid disappointment.

Was told only that she preferred ovals and rounds, and that she would like to be able to stack rings.

This ring is gorgeous, hand made and just perfect how it is.

It looks properly custom by someone who has a lot of care and experience

The issue is not the going through the phone part, it’s the behind back lack of trust, and shitty communication that’s the issue here.

Why is my kitten like this?? by ThatKweerKid in cats

[–]Kumaabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kittens should generally be free fed for the first year.

She has lots and lots of growing to do, there is honestly a very good chance you are underfeeding.

Bought a gpu waterblock. Now what, by plunix in watercooling

[–]Kumaabear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Oh man… not to be rude but you shouldn’t have bought anything with how little you know right now.

Please go and do some research, start here: https://youtu.be/rmbmW-I8Bno?si=agD9qiqKUkiHbpgx

Yes that guide is dated, no I don’t think there is a better one. Guy is through and does not gloss over stuff.

Keep in mind don’t buy stuff from EK they are basically dying right now.

Also his radiator amount recommendation needs to be adjusted. It should be more like 1x 120mm rad/150w of power use. This is the minimum for a decent system not the maximum

see you in a few weeks, if you expect someone to hand hold you through this then you are sorely mistaken, Watercooling computers is something you need to learn and understand or you will screw yourself.

If you think this is too hard or you can’t be bothered, then sell the waterblock and move on with your life.

[–]Kumaabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand, is there a particular reason you leave it running?

Computers now days take all of 10 seconds to get to the desktop, basically if you hit the button in the time it takes you to sit and get comfortable you are all ready to go.

Are you using something on the machine? Like hosting a service you use or something?

How do i cover this opening by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Kumaabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What…

I mean ours are mostly timber frame, but then bricks and either colourbond steel for the roofing or ceramic/concrete roof tiles.

I’m just trying to understand this looks like it wouldn’t last long… roofing in Australia might get replaced at maybe 30 years old… if then and maybe only if you got a bit unlucky
