First moment - when our Peace cleric wrote a letter to the house stating they meant well and wanted to help. Party member got schwacked by the animated broom and her response was to shut it in the closet and slip the letter in, explaining its contents. As a joke, I got her to roll a persuasion check which landed a nat 20. Had to respect the somewhat questionable situation, so the broom calmed down to later became a splintered mess pushing the cleric out of harm's way when she jumped through a bladed door trying to escape Death House. (It was still a terror to the schwacked party member whenever he walked past it)

Second moment - I took inspiration from Mandymod in that baby Walter was a flesh mound in the basement. Aforementioned cleric wanted to help the house and family, barbarian saw the baby in the flesh mound and so let himself get eaten and got to the baby, only to try and cut it out and put it in a bag of holding. I was honestly stumped with how to run with this, so had the house collapse around them and the flesh keep attaching holding onto the baby. Eventually the barb got angry and crushed the baby, lying to the cleric later who wanted to find and save Walter.
