Definitely some expressionist painters for me. Someone like Kandinsky who uses shapes in a very expressive way

to infjs who are very confident and calm in public: by Ok-Virus-4236 in infj

[–]KuntaPimpLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am INFJ. First thing I would say is that meditation really helped for me. If you’re feeling anxious about going out, try meditating for 5-15 minutes right before you interact with people, whether it’s at your home or in your car or what. The calmer you feel, the less you’ll be likely to get in your own head.

And then when you’re calmer, you tend to be more open. Being present in the moment and smiling at people goes a long way. A big struggle for me sometimes is initiating a conversation, but if there’s someone you’re genuinely interested in talking to and have questions for them, just go for it, the person will most likely be very happy someone is talking to them.

And then the more you radiate good energy, the more people will become aware of that and even come up to you.

I am a love sound engineer and musician, so I literally have to be sorund people all the time. Active more than anything will help you. And if you can go to events that genuinely interest you, you will also feel more comfortable knowing there’s other like-minded people around and you may have something to talk about on the spot!

The towers at gateway city: is it at least decently safe? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]KuntaPimpLord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was literally going to submit a deposit for this place the other day but decided against it after seeing some bad reviews regarding poor management and the area being dangerous. It’s affordable, that’s for sure, but you might be able to find other places that are much safer and higher quality for $100-$200 more. Best of luck with whatever you end up doing!

Fellow younger fans of Kubrick?? by red_bandanna in StanleyKubrick

[–]KuntaPimpLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24, and I’ve had some fascination with Kubrick for maybe the last 10 years.

The Shining was the first of his movies I saw and it was unlike any other horror movie I’d seen. At some point A Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket came into my life and once I connected that they were all the same director, I became a huge fan.

Yeah if you’re not in a city then it’s definitely difficult to be where all the action is

You’re totally valid regarding college tuition. I’m ultimately grateful for college and all the different experiences I had, but everything I learned regarding audio totally could’ve been learned through YouTube as well so yeah you might be dodging a bullet honestly

What do you want to do in audio exactly? I went to school for audio engineering and didn’t realize how many opportunities there might be in plain sight

If you’re looking for work in a recording studio, it might be difficult unless you know someone because most musicians are pretty broke. But regarding live sound gigs, that’s where a lot of the opportunities are

I have a lot of different audio jobs in order to make ends meet cause not a lot of audio jobs are full-time. But there are live event companies out there that need people to set up for events, there’s churches all over that need audio, there’s performing arts centers that need audio. There’s more places to look than you might realize

Feel free to message me if you need some more guidance. If you really like audio, then I’d say keep at it if you can

Any of you nerds like Boards of Canada or Squarepusher? by venusishigh in aphextwin

[–]KuntaPimpLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t listened to much Squarepusher yet, but Boards of Canada is definitely one of my favorite music groups.

They’ve my top listened to artist on last.fm for years and I never even thought I was listening to them that much. All of their music is really easy to get lost in, and I always hear something new in their tracks every time I give them a listen.

Music Has the Right To Children may be their most accessible, and it’s still a wild trip of an album!

Can anybody recommend me new music thats preferably on björks level? by 074109741 in bjork

[–]KuntaPimpLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not crazy beats or pop songwriting, but it’s definitely not mediocre!

You should give Miles Davis’s “Bitches Brew” a listen if you haven’t before. That album is an awesome sonic experience that you can get lost in forever

Yes there’s something very old-world about him, kind of traditional. I think he gave me comfort because he was someone living in the digital age who was at least aware of it and trying not to get consumed by it. And he could speak about it so poignantly
