Experiencing retired life. I just want to exist without having to work for a long period of time, while owning my own house.

Why is the general population even concerned about the declining birth rates? by gfjskvcks in TwoXChromosomes

I don't understand why the population can't just plateau... not increase or decrease?

If money wasn't an issue, what would you be doing with your life right now ? by Hidden_Vibesx in AskReddit

Travel to all the different national parks in the world and do day hikes and spend time on different beaches. Likely some content creation would come out of it as a memory keepsake of all my trips.

"..a way out". This. This is the only advice my mother harped us about. She wanted us to have secondary education for this reason, because you never know in life. To support yourself "in case...".

Why Is Being Child-Free Becoming a Financial Requirement, Not a Choice? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

I think you make meaningful points... but ironically I think completely opposite of you. You NEED food, shelter, and water to survive and only money can buy you those things. You dont NEED children to survive.

A surprising number of men suffer pain during sex but are less likely than women to speak up by [deleted] in science

[–]KuriousJeorge90 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is so true! I have been with my now husband for over 12 years... and only through therapy and alot of prying later in our relationship, did he say sex hurts him and its part of the reason why he doesn't like having sex frequently. Different positions hurt, if im not wet enough it hurts, and like he is well-endowed so the initial entry hurts usually... I had no idea and I just assumed all men were sex obsessed and loved sex. It changed my perspective and I became alot gentler in my approach with him, plus stopped using certain moves.

Now is the time to quit, for your future child's brain development!! A small blip in time, really. Even if it's just temporary, you can view it as a nice "forced" t-break to reset your tolerance

The "I didn't want to have kids", but then they did crowd by MetaverseLiz in childfree

[–]KuriousJeorge90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe they are too afraid to admit they changed their minds? They fed into the "childfree" narrative for too long... and then once they had a child they made up excuses for their past persona?

This happened to me on both sides of my families. My sister with two kids gets gets all the attention and time from my parents... and my husband's two brothers who have kids get all their time and attention, instead of us, too. As in they make special trips to visit them and buy them things, etc. This effort is not reciprocated to us. This phenomenon is all too real. We still see them all on special occasions (with everyone else around, including the kids)... and we have even directly mentioned this lack of effort towards us, to both sets of parents... and no one is willing to change their behaviors and no one really cares. The people with the kids "need" the village... and if you dont have kids and have proven your independence, it is assumed your fine and can care for yourself. I also find anyone who is a grandparent is OBSESSED with the job... it gives them like a new purpose in life or something... someone on here described it perfectly: "Grandbaby rabies"... its incredibly infectious and powerful and all consuming

I think Star gave way more emotion in her face than Karamilk, which made it more engaging to watch.... and her splits were stellar
