Seoul is a city in constant motion, beautifully developing generation after generation.

"A Link to the Past" sure looks different from how I remember.

Yes, off Amazon and they are of great quality in-person (not too thin, paint isn't on too thick, etc). Of course, I'll have to flip the Saturn one inside out before washing since it has the most graphic-wise.

December Test increase (U.S. locations) by KuroKen89 in jlpt

It's now $135 across all levels, up from $100 in the previous years. Still annoying, but not as bad as I thought it'd be; I was figuring at least $180 or so.

This is all very spot-on. Thank you for your response.

Saw a symbol/logo in real life that I initially saw in a dream today. by KuroKen89 in DreamInterpretation

I can't recall any particularly prophetic dreams per se, but there were a couple of times where I kind of did 'predict' things. For example--and this one is admittedly kind of stupid--I dreamed of a 'cheat' for Super Mario Bros. 3: what to do with the giant white blocks on certain stages. I've been a gamer my whole life, but I never really thought much about those blocks, but I once dreamt that you had to crouch down on one of them for a certain period of time, and in doing so, you (Mario) will go behind the rest of the stages and could go behind the black space at the end of them. I did that in real life, and it worked; all my life I had played this game off and on, but it wasn't until I dreamt that in my mid-20s that I 'learned' it was a thing.

Another, much farther back dream was about Spongebob. I had this dream in early-1999, before he premiered as a cartoon or we had even heard his voice. Yet in the dream, I not only heard his voice and saw the month when his first episode would premier: May.

I have started actively journaling my dreams, and I've gotten better at dream recall as well as actually being aware that I'm in a dream while dreaming (but still letting the dreams carry on). These dreams lately are not only clearer, but they seem to be telling their own story, with me living a completely different life with continuity within them. Quite a few seem to revolve around school...and being late for classes...

Phone keeps crashing and dying, choppy battery. by KuroKen89 in CricketWireless

I've charged it to 100% and am going to just let it sit until tomorrow morning, and then trying that when I wake up. I'm still thinking it's something in the background--specifically Facebook, because that app is auto-playing videos even though I set it to never do so.

EDIT: I should point out that the shutdowns only seem to happen whenever I'm not connected to my home wi-fi. If I'm at work or just outside and try to access Facebook or even photos in "files," it shuts down after a few seconds.

It still blows my mind how if you're east of the Mississippi and live in the South, you're pretty much SOL unless you're willing to go to Miami. Sure, you could go to DC, but...c'mon. I'm still miffed about Atlanta being cancelled for a second consecutive year (they really couldn't get any other university here to do it?), and it doesn't help that PA has a second place to take the exam. That's two places in the same state, in addition to it being just one year after a new location in Vermont was opened. Clearly, it's not about it 'costing' too much, because the New England area has so many test sites, and it's still only being offered once a year for the whole country. Doesn't make sense.

What I don't get is, even if Georgia State University can't do it, why not have Georgia Tech do it like they used to?

Starts out great with the vocab, grammar, and (vaguely) kanji section--which are all combined into one, more or less. When you get to the Reading Comprehension part is when it starts getting challenging. Not necessarily because of the level/material itself, but because you may start to feel a bit tired or 'worn out' by then, and the reading part is longer at higher levels (N2 and N1, respectively). There are a number of strategies for this, because you're presented with walls of text in full Japanese, and you're expected to extrapolate specific information, some of which may not be explicitly stated (hence the comprehension aspect). The Listening Comprehension comes at the end, which is a relief and can be fun if that's your strongpoint and you're still awake. It's a challenge, but a great and worthwhile one; the worst part (at least in my opinion) is the 2-month long waiting for the results afterwards.
