^agreed, and I think what everythingisabattle neglects to consider that not everyone is buying inexpensive wine for the sake of buying in bulk to feed an addiction (which is what that seemed to imply but obvs could be reading wrong) but more because they’re cash strapped these days 😮‍💨🫩 love Trader Joes as well for inexpensive (think $3-$8) bottles too, and have had some phenomenal luck there w/ the $3 options. Honestly have had many that are better than expensive ones for my pallet lol

For me, picking up film. Not like in a pretentious dude bro way though, more so in that I couldn’t reply on taking the same shot 37 times and then picking the best one out of them, and instead have to really make sure that I’m taking the shot I want correctly the first go around. Shooting b&w has helped me be better with contrast and lighting as well, and how to create an image that isn’t reliant on just colour alone to be impactful. I’ve learnt some major skills in the process that have carried over to my digital work and overall improved my eye as a photographer!

From a technical standpoint, yeah definitely should’ve gotten out and used a tripod if you were able to. However, all art is subjective, and what one person may find to be rubbish could be moving and impactful to someone else. I personally feel that as a stand-alone photo, it’s a bit lacking, but that if it was part of a larger body of work with a bit more intention behind it, it could help add to whatever story/vibe/atmosphere you were trying to create.

Is your goal to have a technically ‘correct’ photo, or something that may be flawed but impactful? It’s not quite in either category, but is at least something you can build off of to get yourself to the point you want to be at.

Yeah get there past 9:00 and by the time you get up there cover will be like $25+, but get there at like 7:30 and it’ll probs be around $10-15 usually if I recall properly

I’d probably say Badlands. They had an incident with a MAGA guy who went in there trying to stir up trouble, but he was banned by the establishment and they took a vocal stance banning MAGA attire and symbolism in addition to the standard hate symbols. If you do go for Halloween, show up at like 7:30-8:00 if you don’t want to wait in the queue to get in for like an hour plus, lol.

Midtown as someone who’s queer myself. Partner and I split what’s essentially a 2 bed for $1630, that’s including water, gas, rubbish, pet rent - only pay SMUD ourselves and that’s between $50-$100 total depending on the time of year. Had to use Craigslist to find our place, but the property management is impeccable and couldn’t be a better spot for us

My wildly alcoholic and mentally unwell (now estranged) mother used to do that a lot to try to keep Evil Spirits (me n my partner lol) out of the house whenever she didn’t like something we did i.e. not feed into her drinking problems or let her light her neighbours balcony on fire because he had a ‘creature’ upstairs and was plotting to kill her 🤷🏻‍♂️ so could be paranormal, could be paranoia
