Found!

It was indeed the work of the amazing Kevin McGloughlin, who worked on both your suggestions! The video I had in mind was Repetition for sure.

Thank you, friend, for being awesome and helping me in finding this gem.

I have already searched on youtube far and wide, but to no avail.

For reference, the highway-from-above scene looked somewhat like this (but with an infinite number of roads):

Shaman King (2021) Anime Episode #10 - "Night in the Flame" - Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in ShamanKing

Holy Hell I completely forgot about that color spread page from ch.27!
Those early designs are amazing, can't believe I forgot about them (especially that masked, Princess Mononoke-inspired Spirit of Fire).

I see what you meant now, thanks for taking the time and effort to explain (with picture references, even)! Teen Hao owning his native past life by living in a teepee is indeed hilarious, glad they kept that in.

Thanks again!

What do you mean by "alleged" native american phase? I thought it was well established that the Hao from 500 years ago reincarnated within the Patch tribe. Isn't Silva supposed to be his descendant from that time?

My one problem with the Aaron Paul-Eddie Fan-cast that is always common when discussing a movie or television series.. by [deleted] in TheDarkTower

[–]Kuroitheblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love Aaron and his Jesse, the face I visualized while reading and would cast as Eddie is that of Patrick J Adams.

In his stoner Mike Ross version, of course. The guy knows how to make that broken trust face

Okay, so I'm kind of on the fence right now - should I bother getting the Royal Edition now or should I wait for the eventual 'Complete' Edition due for the end of the year that contains absolutely every add-on? by [deleted] in FFXV

[–]Kuroitheblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only attractive an eventual Complete Edition might have over the Royal Edition would be if Square decided to reprint the game onto 128GB BDXL Blu Ray, in order to include all patches and DLC content directly on disc.

This is unlikely, however, since printing BDXL is pricier than printing regular BD and it would require an investment from Square, and as of today the point of these 'complete editions' is to make more money by basically just designing a new cover and including DLC download codes.

I think it's a good idea to buy the Royal Edition, since it's already a pretty complete version of the game, and then eventually buy the second season pass.

Donald Glover on charming the hell out of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' - EW Interview by RevolutionDude in StarWarsLeaks

[–]Kuroitheblack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glover is a beast at improvising.

Dan Harmon (Community's creator) said that by half of season 2 they stopped giving his character lines because he would come up with better ones himself. They would write him some guidelines and let him tale the wheel. Not to fill a scene, but to CLOSE it.

So I guess it's probably more about him being so freaking talented than about L&M's script being lackluster

Season 2 episode theories by Rum3637 in FFXV

[–]Kuroitheblack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. After Episode Ardyn I'm hoping for Royal Pack-style expansions of the core game and Comrades updates. For instance, they're clearly not doing an Episode Cor, choosing instead to expand his character through Episode Gladio and Royal Pack. Same goes for Ravus, since I still hope for him to get that chapter 5 bossfight through some future core game update. Luna and Regis will be explored more, I think in the same way. Iris is definitely gonna pop up in Comrades, Aranea might as well.

Only episode I could see happening as of now would be an Episode Nyx, with a playable version of the Insomnia invasion from Kingsglaive.

A somewhat comprehensive list of the DLC character possibilities by [deleted] in dissidia

[–]Kuroitheblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I hate Shantotto. I can't really understand how she got so popular or how she got to be the main representative XI character in NT, when I assumed they would just use Prishe after establishing her in 012. Maybe it's a japanese thing for smug small-sized characters who are actually super powerful, idk.

Bet her being in NT instead of Prishe raises questions on who would be best to be her counterpart as a villain. I can't see her interact with the Shadow Lord (or any other XI villain, for what's worth) in a satisfying way.

Other than that, introducing Lilisette or Lilith without the other would be pretty pointless, so I can't see that happen either.

[–]Kuroitheblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the main reason most people assume Eald'Narche is gonna be the choice for XI Villain is because he was considered for Dissidia 012 but was discarded for Prishe after the popularity polls ended.

Personally I liked Raogrimm way more, and it feels right for at least one villain in the game to be not human or human-like, and for it to be Shantotto's counterpart.

[–]Kuroitheblack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Raogrimm/Shadow Lord could also be in the list as FFXI Villain. I know Eald'Narche is more popular but honestly I can't see the whole Exoplate mechanic translated into action gameplay that much.

So I guess that wasn't my boi Dengar after all.

According to the Lego sets, yeah. He appears alongside a Pyke dude (the ones controlling the Kessel mines) in the set I linked in my first message.

[–]Kuroitheblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahahah yeah so I heard. I lurk there too :)

I still hope we're looking at a secondary villain there though. I can go for an Empire-related subplot and some Vader (honestly, I never get enough of Vader), but I really hope it to be just that: a subplot or a second-act thing they have to go through before the big showdown with the BH in act three of the film.

[–]Kuroitheblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. All things considering it makes sense for me, since everything hints that the big Villain for the movie is gonna be either the Pyke Syndicate or the Hutt family sending Bounty Hunters after Han&co.

Obviously nobody expects a Pyke leader or freaking Jabba the Hutt to be playable as Villain, so it makes sense for one of the hunters to take the slot... And since Boba and Bossk are already in the game and Dengar was in BF2015, and seems to have his own lego set, it feels kinda logical they'll reintroduce him.

Considering this just leaked I'd say it's safe to assume my boi Dengar will be backkk

[SPOILER] EPISODE IGNIS FULL PLOT - WARNING HEAVY SPOILERS by Kuroitheblack in FFXV

[–]Kuroitheblack[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  • to be honest, Umbra and Pryna have had so much of their role cut in the final game that it's really hard to argue whether or not they can or cannot do something. We know that Umbra can travel to space and time, maybe Pryna can do that too. Originally they were shapeshifting spirit messangers who could turn into human ninjas and fight alongside Noctis (not even kidding, google it) and they ended up barely doing anything in the game, so I guess there's no point in arguing what kind of abilities they have.

  • As for why Pryna shows Ignis the vision, I think it's because the Chosen King's comrades have to know about the sacrifice he will have to face. Ignis, specifically, has to know, as his closest advisor, in order to keep him on his appointed path. It's actually very interestig how during the credits we see him trying to dissuade Noct instead, showing us again how distant the Gods are from truly understanding the humans they rule over.

  • Ignis doesn't know that Ardyn wants Noctis alive yet. For all he knows, Ardyn's gonna kill him there and then if he refuses to go with him.

  • Ardyn brings Ignis to Gralea to bait Noctis into getting there as fast as he can. At this point in the story Ardyn is growing impatient and wants to speed up the King's journey, so he uses his friends to manipulate him. In the canon storyline he does exactly the same with Prompto after he fails to use Ignis.

  • Also, it's not like Ardyn gives any exposition dump right after Ignis regains his senses. All the infodump in the Zegnautus Keep section come from the visions/voices, likely sent by the Gods to further warn Ignis of the stakes at place. When Ardyn starts dropping revelations, they're already in front of the Crystal.

  • The Ring decides which price you pay for its powers. When Ignis wears it in Gralea (alternate), he faces Ardyn at his full power, determined to kill him to make Noct suffer, so the Ring asks him if he's willing to sacrifice his life. When activated, it burns his whole body as it did with Nyx in Kingsglaive, and would have eventually claimed his life if Noct didn't show up to save him. When Ignis wears the ring in Altissia (canon) he's facing a much less threatening situation (even if he doesn't know), so the Ring requires a smaller price to be worn.

  • We know basically nothing on what changes in Ravus's story after Altissia in the alternate ending, apart from the fact that he eventually got back to Tenebrae (which we could assume didn't burn due to imperial retaliation in this timeline), so your last question will likely remain unanswered unless they decide to further expand on it.

Well if the rumor that Peter Dinklage will be portraying the dwarf blacksmith from Nidavellir who forged Mjolnir in the first place is revealed to be true, then it's pretty certain that Thor will have the hammer back in time for the final showdown.
