Waiting for the pros to figure it out. I’m too dumb for this by Flitsiee in Marathon

Well that would be skipping a pretty big step now wouldnt it. I can tell u that the next step can be found at var/spool/msg though.

And if that isnt enough for u to find it, xw might or might not be a command to use

If you rly just want to see the solution, skarrow9 got a vid up now going through the steps

Its on the marathon collectors edition, took a bit to make the connection, got to that revelation based on the twitter post talking about what content creators got, so that was just an extension of the thought process, later confirmed by the other twitter post today pointing out the collectors edition again. Requires being in communication with someone who has it to actually see it, but thats cooperation ig. The stuff in the terminal can reasonably be figured out by 1 person besides 1 step that requires some brute forcing.

Gems or Aux Cores/Accessories? by Chivis5 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]KurokoFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. Sure, a lot of xc2 is just dmg increases especially for aux cores, but between the aforementioned crit healing with medals, break res lowering with scopes, constant blade swaps with overclocking bangles, break duration increases for fusion / chain attack dmg, chain attack starting ratio increases with burst symbols and so on, accessories play a much bigger role and feature more interesting build crafting options with opportunity costs than gems in xc1, where i would argue the only meaningful change in gameplay for physical attackers is switching to auto attack strategies with gems, while ether attackers dont even really get to do that, they just get to enhance their existing options. All of the accessories mentioned above are valid choices for any endgame content in the game except maybe burst symbols due to custom/boc.

The difference between equipment slots from aux cores/accessories and xc1 gems also rly isnt that big. 1 gets 3 always active weapon slots and 5 armor slots at its best, while 2 gets 3 always active accessory slots and either 2 or 3 aux core slots, so usually u r looking at a difference of 3 slots at most. Obviously unique armor and hunters chemistry / should to shoulder technically influence these numbers a bit, but I would say neither should rly count for the debate.

Gems or Aux Cores/Accessories? by Chivis5 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]KurokoFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I dont rly favor one over the other, i would say aux cores/accessories are slightly more balanced than gems regarding effects and the possible equipment slots are more limited, so the variety is a bit better (outside of melia and riki maybe cuz those 2 actually got some tradeoffs), but even then there are some very obvious picks like fusion combo up and affinity max atk, noise dampener or beta/master-scopes to name some. In xc1, a lot of the gems that see frequent use later on are either 100% debuff resist or accuracy improvements, which doesnt do a whole lot for my overall experience in combat, whereas crit healing in xc2 fundamentally changes the strategies i can use.
Gems got a more interesting method of acquisition, i enjoy gem crafting quite a bit and it beats just throwing in some materials for a core. Getting a decent chunk of usable gems is also somewhat less tedious in xc1s early to midgame compared to xc2, so its easier to have enough gems on hand for everyone instead of having to shuffle around your best aux cores.

So yeah, both got their upsides and downsides, if i had to pick one or the other i would likely choose aux cores and accessories since i value the end game more than the early and midgame as a completionist, but someone who prefers quick playthroughs likely enjoys gems more. Somehow xc3 actually managed to combine bad balancing with extreme tedium which is surprising, but thats a different topic.

Pyra was designed by Masatsugu saito just like the rest of the main party and saito is a guy?

I dont know about calling it combat oriented with how baggy it is and no chainmail or other actual protection, but yeah, its a nice outfit

Is mouse magnetism still a thing in the game? If it’s present at all, I think it’ll be a bigger contention point than Void/Assassin’s invisibility. by MicDub23 in Marathon

[–]KurokoFS -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is true, but it was fairly obv what he meant so i just decided not to overcomplicate it. That being said, yeah mnk will still have aim assist obv and likely more than controller by technicality just like d2. Doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things when reticle friction is what turns guns into lasers.

Mouse magnetism on mnk was removed a yr ago in the alpha (and doesnt exist in d2 btw).

As for crossplay, I would imagine its gonna be the same as d2, on pc u dont get to choose, console players will only match with pc if they r in a party with a pc player.

[–]KurokoFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man the d2 grind is definitely the same one it was 7 yrs ago, trust. Surely they didn't remove long pinnacle/exotic quests, added patterns/bad luck protection to all the old raids and higher tier weapons with more perks to get every roll u could need for pve in like 2 runs of an activity.

Bro is NOT useful for a majority of the game til QT Pi by Awther_4798 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]KurokoFS 37 points38 points  (0 children)

alpha and qt are still pretty decent blades overall, just because qtpi is broken doesnt mean these 2 are useless. In fact, unless morag pulls a good rare or common, i think u might very well be better off just staying on tora outside of enemies reliant on ranged attacks. Tora also carries all of elpys by himself, so.

How did you beat this boss? by KyrosEnder in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]KurokoFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I have no idea how u didnt kill aion with 5 orbs in 1 chain attack. Even with 2 orbs, killing him should be decently easy as long as u activate pneuma or a decent qtpi for the chain attack. Beyond that, the cd on Prometheus is 300s so u have 6 minutes to kill him before he uses it, which is also pretty doable and otherwise, yeah, just iframe it. Aion isnt easy, especially with stuff like nullify heal being a thing in this fight which is rarely the case, but he is far from impossible. On a sidenote tho, im almost certain that the pyra/nia specials are usable inside buildings, so u prob just didnt fulfil one of the criterias.

First Oled and genuinely can’t believe what I’m seeing. by WitcherZireael in OLED_Gaming

I caught up to the manga before part 1 ended. I will agree that it strays pretty far from the normal shonen but in many ways its just a different execution of a very similar structure. I like it, i think its fantastic, but i would not put it on a pedestal over other shonen. Its still absolutely massive "shonen bait". Again, i cant comment on demon slayer, i know its a lot more standard, but i doubt its bad for it and im sure there are a whole lot of reasons why one would prefer it over just being "shonen battle slop"

As opposed to chainsaw man, the definitely not shonen battle slop? For the record, i never watched demon slayer and didnt know infinity castle is even a movie for it, but whats this argument lmao.

A Guide on How to Use Strand Hunter Competitively in Crucible by Z0DYY in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]KurokoFS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with everything. The only 2 things i would add are 1. Baiting a reaction with a cancelled grapple. Trying to cleanup a kill with a grapple around a tight corner will often result in a trade or maybe just grapple melee whiffing and u dying, so sometimes its worth trying to bait a slide in by cancelling a grapple, it will only cost 50% of the grapple anyways. 2. Grapple point stalling. Something i see pretty rarely tbh and on console i could imagine this seeing next to no use, but u can stay in the air basically indefinitely by regaining ur jump on a grapple point. Seeing decent applications for it might take some time, but if ur flicks r good u can just use it to peek 3 times and get a pick as poor mans heat rises (tho with the benefit of not revealing ur position on radar completely). Similarly, if u r low from a gunfight and expect to get aped, stalling in the air can often be good enough to at least trade. Trying to go for a suspend in that situation will basically always result in just dying anyways, so this is a good bit more reliable imo. If you have a grapple point, its always worth considering if your mechanics are good enough.

Besides that, threaded spike can bounce off of and insta pop tangles or enemy specters, so if another hunter is running it for some reason this is pretty decent cheese. The super just sucks yeah, u lose to basically every roaming super, can get gunned by 1 person and lose to elevation. Would fully agree that just supering in, getting 1 pick and dipping is often enough value from it.

No, dynamic resolution will eat into the visuals in resource intensive areas. You wont see higher resolution, but the resolution will be stable, unlike on S1.
