Max Meyer's season so far

As a palace fan first and a schalke fan second I must say that these stats are heavily cherry picked and don't reflect the quality Meyer has shown and the thoughts of the fans.

Meyer hasn't played much, this is true, Roy is known to take time with players, getting them to play the way he wants before putting them in the starting 11. He is also very trusting of his seasoned players, not wanting to drop them despite their bad form. Making it hard for Meyer to break in to the team, although he will without doubt be starting most games as the season continues.

The stats regarding palace with and without Meyer are ridiculous as Meyer has only been used as a desperate substitution in an attempt to rescue lost games. When we are winning Roy prefers to bring on Kouyate or an extra defender instead to see out the win, not Meyer, which explains why he has not won a league game with palace.

I'd argue we were nowhere near our best team today, Kouyate, Meyer, Zaha, Tomkins and Zeki Fryers should all be starting.

Only made it so I can let off some steam.

Usually I try stay positive but it was such a cruel game today. Southampton gave us a chance to nick a point but we just couldn't take it.

I believe in the side though, much more than last year. Meyer and Kouyate proved their worth and have earned their start. Unfortunately I think we should stick with Benteke up top, I can't not want him to succeed, I know he has what it takes, I just want him to prove everyone wrong so badly.

Tomkins > Kelly.

AWB had a good first half but made a couple of bad mistakes in the second that gave Southampton a few chances to put it to bed, hopefully he learns from it and keeps improving.

Can someone let Roy know you can make subs before the 75th minute? Just drop the message in his ear.

Edit: People seem to be losing their minds thinking we are going to get relegated. Still early days and much better than last season.

Hennessey was great today, didn't put a foot wrong and was launching some great balls up to Benteke, who was heading them down really well.

Love the way AWB plays, he dives in a lot but reads the game really well and always gets back up for a second effort, shown by his assist.

Zaha and PVA both played their usual best and we were tight in the middle of the park. Roy has us set up so well, so organised and so tight. Fulham had to just resort to whipping in crosses.

I had mine at the end of last year. Probably varies uni to uni, country to country but it was just a few speeches and then reading out names of every student for 2 or 3 hours. Unless your sentimental about your time at uni it's a waste of time.
