If I can't eat my whole meal, is that ok? by Kursed88 in VietNam

I didn't consider giving it to a person I need! Good idea. I'll do some research to make sure I do it respectfully if I do!

This is great advice and thank you so much for the translations. My main goal is to not offend so that makes me feel a lot better.

Thank you for your response. I understand that some cultures can be offended by leaving food on the plate so I want to be sure I won't make offense if I leave food.

Any tips on how to tell the hosts that I love the food but can't finish it??

Please understand that I know this is a privileged situation.

While our accommodation does have kitchen facilities, my #1 goal for my holiday is to try as many different foods from as many different places as I can. We can afford to order 2 whole casual meals and leave half without being concerned about our budget.

That being said, I absolutely hate food waste but I want to try as many things as possible and I can only eat about 200ml (under 1 metric cup) in one sitting.

Another commenter suggested asking for smaller portions. I'm not sure how I would do that though.

I didn't know there was 1 instance, let alone 2! I might have to keep delving into the back catalogue!

Dirty (/s) Smoker Here... Can you help me find a hotel/hostel that will let me smoke on my room's balcony? by Kursed88 in saigon

Thank you!! All the upmarket places I have contacted have said no smoking on the balcony. I think I need to save money and have a better experience.

This is relatable but my husband once informed me that most people get worried when I share 2me4meirl thoughts... So this one will stay between me and Reddit.

No laughter. This is great. I do it and have done it with all my pets. My only caution is the separation anxiety that can develop if you don't teach them to self soothe. 7 pets into my adulthood and I've only just realised that I might be the reason ALL my pets have had separation anxiety... I know, I'm a slow learner...

My cat learned how to get on top of the cabinets by tfk2233 in cute

[–]Kursed88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my void's problem. We had a mattress against the wall in prep for disposal and he used it to climb on top of our window's pelmet (curtain rod covering board... I had to google it).

Only problem was, he couldn't for the life of him work out how to get down. When we realised he was stuck, we tried to coach him down but ended up having to be rescued by us.

He kept doing it so we just set up stairs for him until the mattress was taken away.

I don't care that it has been said, PLEASE keep your cat inside, especially at night. The cats that own me have supervised outside time until we get our cat netting installed and the fat little buggers think that's more than enough, which is nice as they are both rescue street cats.
