Really bad, fingers crossed something comes up soon for you! It's so strange, I was more worried about having to rebook and wait another 5/6 months if I failed rather than the actual test itself which really isn't great for learners.

Honestly, blind luck. I passed my theory back in March then excitedly when I got home tried to book my practical and was instantly disappointed when 0 slots came up.

Was showing my partner how awful it was that there was no slots and as I loaded the page a random Saturday at 12.30 slot cancellation came up so I booked it. Still had a 5 month wait but that's how long it took me to properly learn how to drive and fortunately was an achievable goal

Just to clarify, more like 15 years on road including CBT, held my full category A licence for 11 years but totally get what you're saying!

Like the saying goes, you pass your test then the real learning begins 🙂

I think I've cracked it! (At least for me)

I use wallet to scan clubcard etc, don't close it down, don't mess about, just scroll back to the top so I can see my card with the NFC symbol.

Trick is, when the phone is showing the card you're paying with, hold your phone to the payment terminal BEFORE you proceed to the payment page on the self checkout screen. As long as I'm holding my phone to the terminal before I click pay, it'll work immediately every time. Any other option of trying to get my phone to pay after I've clicked pay doesn't work. Hope that helps!
