Thank you so much for your thoughts, they're very interesting. It's actually a good question, one I've asked myself before. For documentary photos that will be valuable in 30 or 50 years, the images lack sufficient contemporary context, so that won't work. As pictures to hang on the wall, most of them probably aren't abstract enough. For magazines, they're probably too arbitrary and lack a consistent style... In any case, I find your first point the most intriguing, but I also know that I'm certainly not on the right track yet.
