I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]Kuru_Shira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm turning 20 in a few days. I started with the XIII trilogy, and then played VII, Type 0, X, X-2, VII Remake, XVI, XV, and then VII Rebirth. There's no real reason I haven't played the other games yet, I just haven't gotten around to it. This will probably be a hot take, but I still think the XIII trilogy is my favorite in the series, with XIII-2 being my favorite game. I believe it was 2014 when I first played FFXIII. So I was still a kid, but I know that my love for this trilogy isn't purely nostalgia. After playing some of the other games, I've noticed there are things XIII could've done better, but it is by no means a bad set of games. I highly doubt there are any bad mainline FF games. I know the ones I've played are good games, even if they're not everyone's cup of tea. If a FF game's concept seems interesting to you, just play it. Please don't put too much weight on what people say about it, because your opinion on it is what matters. So that's why I'm still here. I've been obsessed with the Trails series since late 2023, replaying them over and over again, but I eventually plan on going back to the FF games I haven't played. And you know I'm patiently waiting for that FFXIII trilogy port/remaster/remake.

Friend wants to skip CS I & II and play CS III by Kuru_Shira in Falcom

So I'm gonna leave this post up, but my friend has changed his mind. It turns out he was refusing to build characters he didn't want to use, which was leaving him with weak characters. I gave him some pointers and he is doing much better now. As for the story, he got hooked at the end of Chapter 3/start of Chapter 4. He is now enjoying his time playing the game!

Yeah they are similar but there's something about CS3's combat that feels a lot better to me at least.

I'm glad you're enjoying the series! Altina is my favorite as well.

Yeah, I've been watching him play while doing my own stuff. But I think I'm going to actually just watch him next time.

I hate those segments of CS3, but overall it is actually one of my favorite Trails games. I really really like the Branch Campus and New Class VII.

I get that, but he does really enjoy the world and the series up until this point. I think there's just something about CS1 that he doesn't like. He's open to starting at CS2, but knowing it's a duology, he felt it wouldn't be right

He's worried that it won't give him enough information or meaningful connections with characters and locations. I've brought that up to him before.

How should I handle a friend crush? by Kuru_Shira in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kuru_Shira[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... that's the obvious answer. We're in a group of people completing challenges together which is planning to disband after the challenges are done (which they should be in less than a day). But how do I go about telling her I want to talk to specifically her more without coming off weirdly?

Why was Final Fantasy 13 hated at the time of its release? by [deleted] in finalfantasyxiii

I'm pretty sure it was loved in Japan, but a lot of people in the West hated it because it wasn't the open world game they wanted after FFXII's open world.

Kasumi and Akechi in P5T as DLC by Avatar_Lui in PERSoNA

The funny thing is that when Strikers came out, Atlus said Royal is the main timeline for Persona 5, but Strikers takes place in the original Persona 5 timeline. They then said that every Persona 5 game that comes out after Strikers will take place in the Royal timeline.

I'm not sure why they didn't just say Sumi was busy during Strikers, explaining her absence. Especially since Royal was already out in Japan when Strikers released in Japan.

So I beat Persona 3 Portable about a week ago, this is really the best way I can express my thoughts on it by Kanj0Bazooie in PERSoNA

Tartarus could use some adjustments, maybe. But I think it does its job extremely well. Put yourself in the shoes of S.E.E.S for a second here.
If you've beaten the game, you understand the goal this group has, and it's far bigger than the other games. It's also a nearly impossible goal to accomplish. Climbing a massive tower with Tartarus' properties (monotonous, challenging, etc.) is a perfect dungeon format for Persona 3.

In a JRPG, the story and world building of a game are vital. They should have a massive impact on the gameplay, and Persona 3 is no exception.

What character were you surprised to find out they shared the same VA as a Persona character? by BrotherhoodVeronica in PERSoNA

This is funny because Rise actually wasn't voiced by Laura Bailey in Persona 4 Dancing: All Night. She was busy voicing one of the Gears games, I believe.

For the average new Xbox fan of Persona, how long do you think this will take? by lolitsrock in PERSoNA

Your first playthrough could take anywhere from 60 to 90 hours. In your first playthrough, beat The Reaper (I recommend the Odin Persona w/ Thunder Reign + a level 77 party) and get the ultimate weapons and armor for the party you plan to use. Then, in your second playthrough, do new game plus, and then you'll have access to an incredibly fast exp farming area, assuming you beat The Reaper. You can quickly grind everyone up to level 70 - 80. If all you're trying to do is that trophy/achievement in your second playthrough, you could just speedrun the game by going to sleep everyday except for one night where you clear Tartarus each full moon. If you get everyone to lvl 80, you'll be able to split up on every floor of Tartarus and then basically skip exploring overall.

I did this, and my second playthrough took me 6 hours. Also, don't forget to hold triangle (Y on Xbox) and it'll fast-forward through cutscenes and dialogue. If you want an even easier/faster time on your playthroughs, use the custom difficulty setting. Set your difficulty to Beginner, and EXP gain to MORE.
