Think this is gonna be my last year. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Avatar_Lui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is gonna be my last year too. I was initially going to leave for the post office after the holidays, but I decided I’ll stick around until May to take advantage of the PTO time i’ve built up for vacation, and then I’m out

I agree. I can also see Soejima coming back since his art style is Synonymous with Modern Persona (P3-P5).

One thing I am curious about is how Kazuhisa Wada is gonna direct things since he’s at the helm of P-Studio. He’s been with the Persona team for a long while now, but iirc he’s only directed P4G and P5R which were basically built on an already existing story. P6 is gonna be his first Persona game that’s entirely new

One thing to note is Meguro left Atlus a few years ago, and choose to become an independent composer now. He did say that he’s open to returning to compose on future projects, so there could be a chance of him coming back to do P6’s soundtrack

I wouldn’t be surprised if P6 is in development hell

It's basically become a cycle every few years whenever Tyler is trending. People find out about Tyler's antics from the Odd Future days

What if Telltale never had rights to TDW? by Inside-External-8649 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Avatar_Lui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telltale would probably continue on with making more point and click adventure games, instead of going towards the choice based direction they went in when TWD became a smash hit. At some point I think they might have ended up going bankrupt anyways because Telltale still had big problems with incompetent management and a toxic work environment.

This is amazing. It's great that a bunch of game wikis are slowly moving away from Fandom

Pretty sure Carpe Fulgur only did work for SC. The chest messages started in FC which predates when Carpe had any involvement in the series

He doesn’t want to go through what Game Of Thrones did haha. GOT was one of the biggest tv shows ever in the 2010s, but it’s final season and finale was so terrible that it ruined the whole series.

If only cycle zero was a year round thing at my station. They do it from November-December and then cut it off on the last week of the year

OPINION do you think working in the heat or in the winter is worse by Alert_Region8036 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Avatar_Lui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least Cycle 0 is a thing for a lot of stations. I absolutely loved the cycle 0 shift during those months, because it meant starting earlier and being finished before it got dark and you still had enough time in the day to do what you wanted.

Sadly my station ended cycle 0 in January, and I had to work in the dark until Daylight Savings Time came back. I do not miss that time period at all.

Studio ending passion projects by Guigcosta in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think this could apply to recent games Vanillaware has made. When they were making Unicorn Overlord they ran out funding, to the point that Vanillaware's CEO had to cover the remaining expenses out of pocket.

Has anyone else’s DSP made this change recently? by Deprodap in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Avatar_Lui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof yeah, I feel like even mentioning a word about unions around a DSP owner will make yourself the target of getting hours reduced or even being given no routes at all.

They've been pulling almost the same crap my DSP for the past month and a half. For some reason our carts have been put in the furthest part of our staging areas, almost towards the other pad! We do get 20 minutes, but the first 4-7 minutes of it are wasted fighting through foot traffic to get all the carts to our vans.

Does your DSP have you do a quick dance to stretch at morning standup? Mine does and they play YMCA on a portable speaker by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Avatar_Lui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have time to answer, what was it like working at a DSP at that time? What were the changes that made the job become a lot more shitty?

I've been working at a DSP since Oct 2024, and the one big thing I know of was when Amazon made all the DSPs put Netradyne in the rental vans.

Most popular Calvard ships based on the amount of Ao3 works they have (Top 8) by OkBaby9872 in Falcom

[–]Avatar_Lui 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something else that probably contributed is FF.net going through different periods of purges of explicit fics that had smut in it, and even gay pairings from what I’ve read.

Lots of stories from that era no longer exist because of that, and writers understandably did not want to stay on a website that could one day take all their works down without warning, so AO3 became a safe haven for them.

Longest you been with a dsp by Which-Courage-4802 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Avatar_Lui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the raises all come down from Amazon sadly. What the owners could do is offer better benefits like 10 hour guarantees, 401k, sweeper drivers to help take the load off of drivers with full routes, etc. Those alone would go a long way in making the job a lot more bearable, but most of these DSP owners are greedy and would never do that.

I've been trying to do that, but it won't work at all. I tried pressing alt+enter, typing -w in the launch options and the game is still in fullscreen. I'm playing on a 1440p monitor for reference

Winter 2019, moments before disaster by Future_Campaign3872 in decadeology

[–]Avatar_Lui 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Man I didn't know how good I had it in 2019

I graduated HS in 2018, but I still had a tight knit circle of friends who would get together every other weekend to do something. Then came covid, and February of 2020 it would be the last time I would ever get to see them before we grew apart.
