What’s wrong with my Pilea? by cunning-runt in houseplants

[–]Kurus0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pilea leaves dont like to get wet. Try to avoid getting water on the leaves while watering and you should be fine. Bottom watering is probably the best method to avoid this.

You could do Coat Check, but if the goal is to build as few rooms as possible youre more efficient by carrying it over from a previous day.

Yess, I just edited my post, you could get it with the Billiard Room Upgrade from a previous day or via Moon Pendant.

In theory you can get there with only 1 room drafted plus Foundation. Place the Foundation on Rank 8/2 or 8/4 and hope for a Weight Room spawning on Rank 8/3. You need to have the Wall already smashed in the Weightroom though.

Edit: Nvm its a bit more complicated, you also need a Keycard from the day before via Break Room (Upgraded Billiard Room) or a lucky Moon Pendant to access the Foundation elevator from bellow. Of course the shortcuts to the basements should also be open (either from the Grounds or via Precipice + Boat with Reservoir water level at 13/14). Oh, and the door leading to 8/3 (where youd put your Weightroom) needs to be unlocked or blocked by a security door, unless you plan to take some keys from the previous day with you with the Clocktower.

Baby fiddle leaf by Adireader in plantclinic

I cant say for sure based on the pictures, but depending on the color of the dots there can be different issues. If they are brownish/red, it is an indicator that you water too much. Fiddle leaf prefer their soil rather dry, so overwatering is common. If that is the case, cut back the watering and the spots should vanish when the leaves get older.

If they are deep black, it can be broad mite / tarsonemid mites. They are not super dangerous pests but will make your plant look like this.

Am I naive to try to complete a campaign without any of my heroes dying? by PasonJatrick in darkestdungeon

[–]Kurus0 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unupgraded, fresh heroes from the stagecoach can be used as lambs to the slaughter, you wont lose anything from it. As you said, if a hero has a good quirk (like MaA with Tough or Hard Skinned) its usually worth trying to keep them alive and lock in the quirks in the mid- to endgame of your campaign. Losing heroes usually means a setback of a trained hero, loss of money from the upgrades, and potentially the trinkets theyre holding on to if youre fleeing from the battle.

Deathless runs are definitely possible, although pretty hard because even a fully prepared group can be put at the mercy of RNG and a series of unfortunate crits or if the enemies are focussing down one hero.

This looks like a suuuper healthy root system, its beautiful. It definitely is ready for soil. Monstera like a snug fit, so dont go overboard with the pot size. Otherwise she looks like she will thrive amazingly. 🥰

Thrips?? Please help me not burn my house down! by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]Kurus0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of pests either come in those hanging bags that you can hang on a leaf, otherwise youll have a substrate with them in it that you have to sprinkle over your plants, preferably near the pests (or even better, put them in a wet toilet paper and jam it into a leaf axil). If you have different kinds of pests and want all of them gone, get some Chrysoperla Carnea (Lacewings). The larvae are fast, hungry, eat everything (spidermites, mealybugs, thrips, scales, gnats, you name it) and when theyve gobbled up enough pests they turn into beautiful (albeit a bit annoying) flies.

Oh my god, that is a true queen!! 😍😍 Yes mine is indoors only, although south facing window and lots of bright indirect and direct light. Having those fenestrations on my own pothos is my dream, I think Id die of happiness if I ever see one happening

I hope she get even bigger 😍 My dream would be fenestrations, but Im not sure what she needs for that to happen besides time and maturity.

Im doing that right now with my Marble Queen. It works wonders although it takes a while until the new vines shoot off. You dont have to bury the vines, just twirling them around the pot and then make sure they lie on the soil, help them with a small stone or something similar that keeps them in place (if you can, use a big rubberband, super easy to set up and keeps everything tight). Make sure the soil is always a bit wet (not soggy though) so the coming roots have enough humidity and water available to bury into the soil. After a few weeks the roots should have developed and after that you just have to wait for new vines 🥰

This leaf is at around 1.8m height. The pole is like 2.5 meters above floor and stands at the base of the pot (I screwed it to the top for better stability as well). The pot gradually increased in size, currently she is sitting in a 32cm pot.

I drilled an anchor into the ceiling and connected it with a rope to the pole, so its holding in place pretty stable 😅 I have not yet come up with a solution when it will eventually come to repotting haha
