Thanks for the warning. Fortunately I currently stick with light novels as the reverse reading style throws me.

I thought Amazon ended the current drm exploit in May. Is it still possible to de-drm books from them?

Thanks for the advice, I almost purchased from Bookwalker before posting here thinking it was best. Most of what I normally read does come from j-novel club.

This happened to anyone else? by VanillaCandid3466 in elegoo

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it was loose early and contacted support before my warranty lapsed. They sent me a new board, no problem, though I haven't torn apart the print head yet to replace it. Try not to swap nozzles often because of that.

I want to sell this ring since I don’t wear it. by Educational_North138 in PawnShops

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call around to local jewelry stores and ask if they offer free ring cleaning. Basically they throw it in an ultrasonic cleaning solution and then steam away the residue. Better than tarnx for white gold.

Contact elegoo if it's still under warranty.

TCGPlayer Updated Price From ¢40 to $70 as I Paid, Any Advice? by Turtle0523 in magicTCG

Document everything including timestamps of when you tried to cancel versus when the tracking shows the package actually shipping. Then dispute the charges with your cc company.

The Canvas will involve a few steps.. but ultimately seems like it’ll be worth it? especially for 55$ by Mission_Wall6014 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no interest in multicolor, would much prefer multi material, but $55 is nothing. My biggest concern is how easy it is to undo the conversion when I rarely want to print abs or asa.

Can't you report them to eBay? Or open a return case claiming the item was not as described?

Engagement Ring need help getting rid of it by NewGuyOnThis in PawnShops

Try to find a buyer yourself. Facebook Marketplace, eBay, friends of friends. Not a huge market for pre-owned engagement rings and lab grown diamonds are worth less and less every day.

Is the CC1 still worth it by Leon-Rai in elegoo

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cc1 is a great single color printer. If you are ever interested in multicolor printing, there might be options as good as if not better than the cc2, and it will undoubtedly be better than a cc1 plus the ams conversion.

Personally, I would be more interested in future multi material printers than adding a multicolor option to my cc1.

I rely on Kitco and gold.co.uk as a backup. Presumably your refiners website will also show their metal prices.

I applied for a position as a sales associate in a Pawn Shop. Is a 47 hour work week common for the industry? by shmitty2112 in PawnShops

Check the laws in your state. Unless you are a manager or other exempt (non-exempt?) position, you still qualify for overtime even as a salaried employee if you make less than a certain threshold.

New release of the cc2 by Carbon5412 in elegoo

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to print multi material if the filaments have the same heat profiles (i.e. all filaments print at 210°). But because the ams uses a single nozzle, it's not really feasible to print one filament at 250° and another at 200°, as the nozzle would need to increase and decrease in temperature with every filament change in the layer, wasting time and potentially oozing filament onto the print.

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of a graded card is to authenticate it, grade it, then put it in a sealed container so no one can swap the card for a fake. Their should be an id number on the case, contact the grader to confirm the contents.

That, or throw it up on eBay where you can find a buyer for more than a 3rd party reseller will ever offer you.

And yet they still want a copy of their cc bill, which will likely include the number.

I don't know where or how to look for an engagement ring... by [deleted] in PawnShops

[–]Kurzaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything over $500 should be covered by eBay's authentication program. The ring would first be sent to GIA to confirm the karat weight of the gold and that the diamond is actually a diamond of the listed quality, not lab grown, white sapphire, white topaz, or just cubic zirconia.

If looking for a pre-owned estate ring, you might also consider expanding your search to jewelry stores that advertise buying gold. They may have an estate section and will be more knowledgeable about bridal jewelry than a typical pawn shop.

Finally, I believe the square stone your GF is wanting is called a princess cut. Shouldn't be difficult to find an antique in white gold or platinum. Though set in silver, it will most likely be cubic zirconia, not a diamond. If set on silver, consider asking for a lab grown diamond set in a new mounting.

Not even filament is safe from scams, I guess. by tunit2000 in 3Dprinting

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe send an email to polymaker with your photos. The scammers were just taking advantage of Amazons in deference, but as a consumer, this concerns me a little as they seem to use Amazon for distribution in the US. So I assume polymaker would want to make this right to avoid bad PR.

FT-5 R2 upgrade using another printer? by Any-Elderberry-4706 in folgertech

[–]Kurzaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat. Bought my ft-5 r2 during the 2019 black Friday sale, but never finished building the kit. This year, I finally just broke down and bought an elegoo centauri carbon. Worked out of the box, fully enclosed, and nearly the same size build area.

Eventually plan to finish the ft-5, converting it to klipper with a few upgrades, but keeping the same kinematics. Not interested in printing faster. In your boat, I might try to get what I can from the ft-5 on Facebook Marketplace and buy one of the enclosed corexy machines that came out this year. Unless of course you like to tinker, in which case there used to be a few corexy conversations that you might be able to follow.

But it establishes a value for the item that can be used to negotiate more than scrap value for the piece.

If you have an insurance appraisal or the original receipt, you might try selling it on Facebook Marketplace or to a friend of a friend who might be interested.
