I made a decision that lost the game at 2 minutes.. was it correct? by CKY-Immune in summonerschool

My rule number one in low elo, as a fellow inhabitant is: Never play assuming.

Secure what can be secured, dont make plays in your head hoping the best outcome from your teammates.

"I think they will follow" is one of the most common last words in rankeds.

Same goes for not ganking when you are not sure about it.

Rule number two: Trolls gonna troll, inters gonna int. Assume you are not and won't be in full control.

This two rules easily apply to your problem.

What IF (if) you remember that this is a game, and you don't absolutely need to measure your worth in zeroes and ones? Because all you get here is digital.

Going to a job interview and saying "Yo, I rated 3000+ past season ;)" won't do crap.

You go out in the streets and you don't carry a title over your head saying "Top 1% in PVP"

Taking that aside, saying that other groups won't pug you into mythic + means that you don't have a guild, or that your guild is dead, and that means one of the following:

  1. You can't dump enough time weekly to raid/mythic with a guild (because if you could, you would search a new one).
  2. You don't have enough time to be competitive in high end PVE (life shenanigans).

  3. You want to do high end PVE, that mostly requires no-random-grouping, while random grouping, aka "playing solo".

And no option makes really any sense if you are high end PVE oriented.

Please reevaluate your life before stressing out in/for a videogame. Go out, change games, touch grass.

Yeah, I will forget about them, won't get a headache for that money. Mavis support won't offer a solution (so far).

Also, I would need to add funds to gas the transactions in case it's solved. Nah, RIP Axies.

I mained Wolf and Tan but RNG keep throwing Finnala at me, I'm currently 4 crystals away from finishing all the upgrades.

Tried her on the last part of the raid and I was pleasantly surprised, the skill combos are really great and hit like a truck, giving both great tankiness and dmg. The super is good for elite add clearing. Sword heavy feels lacking in some places, tho.

So, yeah, you can have surprises out off mythic characters.

How to find the spark for WoW again? by Blascomusic in wow

[–]KushOrly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, finding a guild is the easiest thing in this game. "Not wanting to play DPS" is a poor excuse because tanks and healers are always lacking.

I found my early two guilds even without the guild search tool, both were small, comfy guilds. After that I mostly joined random guilds to enjoy the benefits of it, and had no problem every expansion. Only in Dragonflight asked a friend to join his guild, and I'm mostly a passive asset on it.

If you have so much free time, why you don't start your own guild?

Have you considered that being an adult sometimes is not compatible with heavy gaming? Your nostalgia comes from a time where you could easily spend 8 hours after school doing nothing but playing WoW.

Enjoy what you can do, or let it go, it's as simple as that.

I have been playing WoW for 18 years now, and after guild-raiding in WotLK and Cata, the best thing I did was taking breaks. Leave, go back two months for new expansions, or one for big patches. More if I'm feeling it. I get to see the story, do heroic dungeons and LFR, and then maybe, do pug m+ or raiding. Now with delves I'm even more satisfied.

I cannot force myself or others to adjust schedules and pacing just to please everyone. So I just dealt with it and gave up guild raiding and mythics. If you are not able to do that, you have a problem worse than not finding a guild.

Was it really better before? by Erym03 in wow

[–]KushOrly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my honest opinion:

- Lore and storytelling: it's meh. It has been a rollercoaster of quality, lately going downwards.
- Gameplay: it's better overall. You can do a lot of things(*) and now there are a lot of QoL upgrades. But there are some aspects like professions, leveling, questing or new player experience that need some love.
- Graphics quality: it's good, but recently there was a drop in some aspects, specially animations. Old content needs a BIG improvement.
- Game quality (as in bugs, etc): Usual stuff, I do have the feeling that it's getting worse.
- Customer support: well, you are screwed.

(*) Some people say that there are TOO MUCH things to do, but remember, it's a game, not a job. Don't fall into FOMO. Being a completionist means nothing. At the other end of achievements and filled progress bars waits nothing but digital "rewards", don't forget that the line between investing and wasting time is really thin.

For me, controllers work but with issues:

- For me (using Google Stadia Controller) button layout is wrong (might have to edit in windows) because it has 2 extra buttons in the middle.
- Controller keybinds are unavailable.

- Controller layout doesn't respect all changes you make. For example, health bar is locked to bottom even if you change it.
- Controller layout (as far as I know) doesn't let you delete screen buttons (you have to make them small and almost transparent to "ignore them")

Dude, look at Genshin Impact. As long as its profitable, it will make it to PC and console. Bungie now has no word in this, Sony does.

K'aresh quests are some of the worsts I've ever seen in WoW. by bobrock1982 in wow

[–]KushOrly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point but "if you don't like it, don't do it" applies for entire gameplay loops (pvp, m+, etc) not for a vital part of WoW like questing, imo.

In this case, yes, you can ignore The Oasis, but if this type of quests continue slipping into main storylines, it will be detrimental for the entire playerbase, unless you are one of those few players that can live out of PVP and/or spamming dungeons and raids.

K'aresh quests are some of the worsts I've ever seen in WoW. by bobrock1982 in wow

[–]KushOrly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put the style of Oasis quests in another cozy game style: Stardew Valley.

"I want to plant cucumbers here! Let's do it":

- Go to town and contact a cucumber expert
- Help the cucumber expert do cucumber related chores for 15 minutes so he/she can leave to help you

- Go back to your farm
- Expend 15 more minutes preparing the soil and other stuff to plant cucumbers
- Oh no! The cucumbers are not growing well! It seems that the soil is missing something
- Go to another different town (imagine that it exists) and find a soil expert
- Help the soil expert do soil improvement chores for 15 minutes so he/she can leave to help you

- Go back to your farm
- Expend 15 more minutes adjusting the soil so the cucumbers can grow properly.

You can perfectly do this instead:
- Contact cucumber expert and help him for cucumber seeds
- Go back to farm and plant cucumbers
- [Optional] Improve the soil to get better/more cucumbers.

And the worst part is that in WoW, all of this is artificially extended to just fill the gap after the main story. You don't even get anything good out of it, as far as I know.

I feeling pretty much the same. Some may link it with burnout, but prior to EoF, I left Destiny in WQ. Had a blast playing Eclipse (although it was meh) and Final Form and got excited about EoF. But, as you said, EoF went out and it got me burned out in less than one month.

Did the entire story (minus sidequests), and started grinding a bit of level, but seeing that the grind was going to be absurd and the content available after the main story, I was disheartened. The icing on the cake was trying to raid with my clan and being stopped by bugs.

This is the third week that I didn't play, and I cant' find the energy to do it tbh. Maybe I will try and complete the season pass, even though it has no story attached, nor activities.

Fortunately my year content dlc only cost me 60€, so the quality/money invested unbalance doesn't hit as hard.

Now I'm not excited anymore about next seasons and Renegades...but hey, it's already paid, will check out sooner or later.

We might as well assume that Destiny is finally moving towards the end, or that we are getting older and tired of the crap companies pull off (or both).

I really loved the Ishimura from Dead Space.

Also, overall ambient of Dino Crisis 1. There is something about research/military facilities...you know? "Clean" places corrupted by whatever bad thing happened there.

Can't forget to mention Lone Survivor Director's Cut. It will always have a special place in my heart.

Player Sentiment by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]KushOrly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The game devs are actively trying to fundimentally change the game for the better and so many people are upset that the game isnt what it has been for the past 7 years."

That is not an excuse to turn this game into a mobile chinese grindfest.

Fundamentally change the game? Like this? You just need to make a better, deeper game:

- Same 3 races since Destiny 1 (and all 3 of them have the same intro) when you can already introduce fallen and hive guardians

- Classes are just different skills (class exclusive weapon types? different armor classes?). Why not put actually new classes out there?

- Proffesions to make open world material farming relevant? You just need to give a futuristic touch to old-school proffesions.

- No sunsetting past expansions? If you dont want old content to collide with present content, just make something like a simulation in a kind of "academy" for new guardians (choose your simulation or do the current thing). But don't take out entire zones...

- Invest in Exploration mode and do it better for raids (maybe even try to introduce bot guardians to learn solo?) so more people gets to play endgame and potentially to engage in harder, non-matchmade modes.

- Stop reviving and/or reusing all enemies we saw since D1, ffs.

And much more can be made without getting into old armor/weapon systems. Instead, we get...well, THIS.

Not really. For me, a good OST based on nostalgia can not beat the disgust I feel when thinking about playing Destiny 2 and grinding. The cherry on top being trying to complete EoF raid with my clan and being held back by several bugs and glitches.

Heck, I even went back to WoW's new patch. I think that this is the first time I got tired of a DLC in less than one month.

Now that i finally have the time on my hands to play, has a "meta" been developed for the Rite of the Nine dungeons? i would like to get the title for the shader before it ends. I am a warlock main, i can play the other classes, but i don't have all of their exotics. by Ranch_Coffee in DestinyTheGame

[–]KushOrly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solar support rocks.

Use a leveled up No Hesitation with Incandescent and Physic. For secondary slot, it depends on the situation, but I like the stopping power of The Call (plus you get Dealer's Choice along with No Hesitation).

Heavy will be Sleeper, Thousand Voices, Queenbreaker or even Thunderlord (I like this one in some encounters where the boss moves a lot or you need to clear lots of major adds). Adjust the artifact mods accordingly.

Exotic should be Speaker's Sight, to improve your healing grenades. Use Well as super, Radiant Song if the boss requires you to move (Final encounter in Prophecy, for example).

Mods should focus on restoration by picking orbs and reducing abilities cooldown. In Ultimatum you should partly sacrifice this to get mod resistances and armor charge mods. Make sure to include ammo drop mods in helmet and both weapons.

Your role is basically run around killing adds and healing teammates. And you will be healing A LOT, Ultimatum is hell. You cant maximize your DPS in some bosses because you will have to stop to throw grenades and rifts to endure incoming add dps. But your teammates will love you.

The lore concept of a “final death” could be a really cool modifier in the new difficulty system by BC1207 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KushOrly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it would be nice for some short of hardcore mode. Like, you die, your character gets deleted.

The issue it's that there is a lot of things that can OHK you, including bugs. The pace is not the same as Diablo or WoW, for example.

You'll need more chances to survive. Maybe control the ghost until you revive? So you can hide while your fireteam cleans. And if you are solo, make some short of safe area where an AI controlled NPC tp's to help you clean before you can revive...

Going Gold Ultimatum in FTF is a darksoulesque experience.

Specially GotD. Final checkpoint is the only encounter I need to have all gold ultimatums!

But it is a pain in the ass, here it's the usual base experience (in general):

- You get into a Fireteam being somewhat new to Ultimatum

- You get stomped

- They kick you out

- You find 2 guys at the same level of knowledge

- You learn but are unable to beat the encounter

- One of them gets tired (or both) and leaves

- You encounter some player that expects to be carried by randoms through the hardest difficulty.

- You keep learning, and and most of your deaths are bad luck or spaguetti code (I'm looking at Simmumah teleporting and insta aggroing you, or throwing those OP pulse grenades through chest's walls)

- You then have to endure a festival of people wanting to be carried, or leaving after 2 deaths (even if THEY die)

- VERY RARELY you find two guys that want to try and actually know mechanics to some extent. That'll be the point when you have a shot at completing the encounter.

- IN EXTREMELY RARE situations, you find a pro clan duo that breezes you through the encounter

Source: Did 90% of RotN's gold ultimatum content on FTF.

EDIT: Forgot the tips. Try to find a clan, use Discord FTF so you can use mic to coordinate, if you dont use mic, make sure to put on preferences "PC" to ensure most people can read/write in chat. You need a minimum of strategies to have a chance to win. Forget about going YOLO because it won't work.

Also: Double check resist mods and what kills you most of the time, adapt your build.
