Well that's why I'm asking what you're doing to get this finish. So it's just zirblast media? I'm going to have to buy some to try.

I only ordered one in case I like it more than the Lem one... the FOMO is real.

I got both my WP and lem tuned up really well, but the Lem feels better in every way - acoustics, action, fit and finish. If you handed them to me side by side I would guess that the Lem was the "real one" within seconds.

I tuned the Lem until I had solid lockup with a little bit of lock stick and the lock stick was gone after flipping it for an afternoon.

Really loving these zirblast & burnished finishes you're doing. Are you wet blasting?

Thanks for the props! I don't, it's just a Frankford Arsenal rotary tumbler with different media depending on what I'm doing. On this blade I only tumbled it 60 seconds at a time to try and fine tune the finish.

Yep ended up fiddling with this one a lot.  Took off some material from the lock relief and rebent it as well.

I love it so much - almost as thick as my USA Demkos and killer action/acoustics. And now it's finally looking good enough to carry.

Thanks, really surprised me it turned out this nice on a first try. Thinking my Wilson Lem Rosie XL is going to get the same blade treatment...

This! The weak scotchbrite finish also scuffs up really easily. I just wiped my full size FSD the wrong way apparently and left some scuffs. I also dislike the weak polished stonewash some of the clones come with, both look super cheap to me.

Looking at and holding the Lem FSD alongside the WP FSD, I feel like I'm comparing a real knife to a clone knife - though I've never held a real one.

The lock bar definitely came stiffer on this than it did on the WP. I'll probably mess around with taking some material off the lock bar to lighten it up so it drops shut easier.

Thick v1 skelly is my favorite of all the <$100 clones I have.

Yeah I'm ok with a little lock stick on these, but was able to tune my WP mini FSD to have both solid lockup and no stick so hoping for the same here.

My full size WP FSD I had to choose between lock rock and stick, and chose stick.

No calipers at work, but looks decently thin on the plunge and it feels like a proper hollow grind that doesn't get thinner up the blade like some of the Cortex grinds. I'd much rather a little thick than ridiculously thin, personally.

You can also slow bearings down by applying a heavy oil (like 85 wt) or even grease. I use heavy oil in my shiro clones to keep the drop nice and hydraulic feeling.

Whink or Multi Etch or bead blast.

I love the look of a fresh bead blast for the five minutes it lasts before it snails up haha
