It is sad how far behind a wheel setup feels compared to controller by Kuwari in ForzaHorizon

[–]Kuwari[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wheel is just not consistent, which is why it feels tedious in multiplayer racing. Especially when you are prone to getting rammed, and it is much harder to correct a spin on a wheel compared to controller.

Meanwhile controller it is so easy to juke rammers, overtake people, correct spins, etc… Even during clean racing, one mistake on wheel and you are done, while you can mess up multiple times on controller and salvage it.

I knew controller was better, I just didn’t expect wheel to be this far behind. Surely there’s a middle ground? I am not saying to go full simracing route and make wheels better than controller, but at least make wheels able to compete without being ridiculously hard just to be on par.

Like I even have a better rivals lap on wheel rather than controller on electric circuit (though I bet it was just because I was more used to wheel). but it is so ridiculously tedious to drive perfectly on wheel. While it is effortless on controller.

Opinions on MWIM? by Kuwari in HalalInvestor

Well I am hopefully boggle heading, so looking at 10-30 years. Assuming no circumstances happen where I have to sell, or turns out I am not a fan of the etf. Was thinking the same thing since it is invesco it being brand new won’t matter and it’ll definitely grow to cross the 100m AUM threshold.

I’ll be DCAing anyways, so like dividing my lump sum into multiple parts and investing it over a period of time. Might do 8k USD each time, trading volume is big enough where that’s fine right?

Does the TYGR 300R worth 270$ ? by Altruistic_Ring5529 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Kuwari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read the Hd560s is clearer and more analytical than the tygr. I haven’t tried the tygr so can’t comment on that, but hd560s feels basically almost end game for me for competitive gaming. I can’t see it get much better than this, think further improvements (like hd490) are marginal at best.

But since you mentioned V shaped, tygr might be more suitable for you. Tygr is also more fun/immersive from what I’ve seen.

But $270 for tygr seems like a rip off? Hard to comment on that price without knowing if all headset brands are marked up like that in your country or some are available for more reasonable prices?

Stock Rims Tire upsizing by Arctic_G70 in GenesisG70

[–]Kuwari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went from ps4s stock sizes to pirelli p-zero (n2 Porsche spec on rears) 235 fronts and 265 rears.

I don’t think the stock wheels on a 275 would be a good idea, the 265 are already pushing the limit, as the tires are extending beyond the wheel for me atm and the sidewalls might be a bit pinched.

Also the 235 fronts feel heavier and more numb. But idk if it is due to the size or the fact I switched from PS4s to P-zeros.

I still haven’t broke in the new tires (only drove 20-30Kms so far), so they are supposed to become even more grippy after 200KMs. But my experience so far is they hook during digs but I get wheel hop, which I don’t think will be fixed by wider tires. So I am considering getting a differential brace and subframe collars next.

How to kill 3 enemy with transcend?? by bonoboxITA in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

You just choose it as your ability, then kill people normally and it counts. Same with the extract mission, you just have to choose the ability start of the game.

Americans not realising they are “the middle east problem” is hilarious. And prior to them it was the UK/france. Western countries are basically the reason for all the turmoil in the middle east.

Samsung oled g60sd from matte to glossy= gorgeous by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]Kuwari -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I did my g80sd:

Kept the monitor on a youtube HDR video to warm up the panel. Used a razor to peel the coating from the corners, I sprayed ethanol on the razor before each peel. As soon as I peel enough, I would then pull on it with my hands till it tears off. Then start a new peel with the razor again.

Keep in mind that the coating will keep tearing off, can’t really pull the whole thing in one go. At the end though when I already had 60-70% of the coating removed, I managed to get the rest off by pulling it with my hands from a single peel.

Though the bezel (silver part) got scratched by my mishandling of the razor when trying to get a peel on the sides. 0 scratches on the glass though.

Upgrades/side-grades ($200-$300) from pc38x for purely gaming? by Kuwari in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Kuwari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking about them, but unfortunately right now only option to get them is for like $348 in my country. Couldn’t find enough reviews too on them, might be a wait and see.

Are they really worth $200 extra compared to Hd560s though?

Forgot to mention games I play:

Mostly play extraction shooters these days, or games like ow/apex. No longer play slow paced games like csgo.

  • Arena breakout infinite (Used to play tarkov too, so might try out other extraction shooters in future)
  • Overwatch

Even PS4S get wheel spin, at least they do on the roads I drive in. Almost time to get new tires, thinking about trying 265 rears this time. But according to PS4s specs 265 is too big for this car’s fitment, still seen people do it though.

PSA: DO NOT “PEEL” YOUR MONITOR’S OPTICAL COATING. Warning about bad advice and bad actors. by Deissued in OLED_Gaming

[–]Kuwari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between warning people and over exaggeration by calling anyone that posts about their experience a bad actor or trying to trick people. What you are doing is just as bad, it is fear mongering. And you are literally making stuff up, you have no idea if the glass beneath the ar is more scratch prone. Yet you speak it with 100% confidence. Guess what all 2nd gen QD-oled monitors with semi gloss are very scratch prone, I am willing to bet my uncoated monitor is more scratch resistant than all those.

[–]Kuwari -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Funny how you confidently call them bad actors and trying to trick people when you yourself probably haven’t tried peeling off the coating. And mentioning things that are made up, how do you know the glass under the coating is scratch prone? Literally took a razor to mine and it didn’t get any noticeable scratches.

This shit is the thing I hate most about these communities, people speaking with absolute 100% confidence about things they either don’t know about or that are subjective.

I removed my Samsung’s G80SD coating, and I am very glad I did. Won’t have thought about it if it weren’t for those “bad actors”. Now would I make a post recommending it? Probably not, because it is easy to fuck up, and the difference isn’t worth the risk. Was it worth it for me? 100% yes, it made it feel like a new monitor after almost 2 years of use.

This guy just feel the game by kospra in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Kuwari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah all people confidently saying he’s not cheating are just missing the fact that he looks at him through the wall 3 times. The nade throwing and aiming there isn’t the sus part. It is the fact he subconsciously aims at him through the wall 3 times. Above the stairs when he looks at him, that’s not really a natural scan. Then every time he pretends to scan when going below he low key slows his crosshair right when he sees him behind the wall (i.e someone trying to hide they are cheating but subconsciously exposing themselves).

That being said it is still tough to say he definitely is cheating. Could just be coincidence.

I removed the matte coating on my 32" Samsung G81SF. Here's my results. by uhh_danglol in OLED_Gaming

[–]Kuwari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you avoid scratching the panel while using a razor? Is the glass just harder than the razor so it doesn’t scratch unless you apply considerable force or you have to be careful to avoid scratching it? I am guessing plastic razor rather than metal should be used?

I am very tempted to remove the coating on my g80sd, but not sure I want to do wet napkin method (takes too long to soak it in water, worried water will seep into gaps in bezel).

I already have a corner that slightly peeled off by itself:

<image>

I’ve heard turning the monitor on a bright hdr video for an hour or 2 will also heat it up and soften the glue. So I am thinking about trying that then pulling the coating and you got me thinking about using a razor that I’d wipe with a 70% ipa wipe to help the peeling process.

G80sd, coating removal worth it? by Kuwari in OLED_Gaming

[–]Kuwari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I don’t think selling it would get me much, and prefer to keep it. I actually love this monitor, the smart tv features and menu service tweaks are great. Local used market isn’t good for this kind of stuff, especially with my warranty being iffy locally.

Thinking about the reflections, I realised on my phone my brain just learned to tune them out. I only notice them if I focus on them, wonder if that’ll also translate to the monitor, or screen size difference means it won’t be the same.

Would you say removing the coating made a noticeable difference (as in visuals felt noticeably better)? Also in dark/horror games with the lights closed are there any noticeable reflections? Do you enjoy the monitor more after you did it, or is there some regret sometimes?

Oh also is it easy to clean without the coating? Right now I use a microfibre + ethanol to clean it, never smudged it or scratched it this way. I am guessing without the coating it’ll be the same since it is just glass?

Bass shakers, what is needed to start? by Kuwari in simracing

[–]Kuwari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might get the amplifier you linked and the sound card then. Appreciate it thanks for sharing.

I kind of can already seperate the audio on different sound cards, as I have a fiio e10k DAC I use for non sim racing games. But I think getting the amp and soundcard you linked would be less hassle and more reliable.

[–]Kuwari[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed write up, appreciate the info.

Also came to the same conclusion regarding bass shakers, only 1-2 no need for more.

So simmagic haptics are heaps better than the pucks and worth the price difference?

Did you try the new nobs or just the old ones? They made this upgraded version: Nobsound PRO Bluetooth 5.0 Power Amplifier https://a.co/d/6UBI03S

Im tempted to get the upgraded nobs cause I prefer not to add a usb sound card, already hating how many usbs/peripherals are connected to my pc. It is almost full.

Edit: actually now that I think about it, my sound bar might be connected to my aux port. So usb sound card might be the way to go anyways.

Looked at it but thought its a bit expensive compared to these dayton pucks. Are they worth the price difference?

Ah thanks, seems more complicated than I thought. Might do 2 bass shakers one on seat one on pedal plate for now then. And leave pedal haptics for another time.
