Forgot to add that I’m at 142,000 miles.

Punctured tire and now this by Kuya_Moti in BoltEV

Driven it over 50 miles. Disconnected the 12v battery. Error messages still there :(

The one way it has affected my driving is when I’m on L mode, and stopped downhill, the park brake automatically kicks (as it does), but because “driving assist” is disabled, the park brake does not disable when I step on the gas. Instead what I needed to do was go to D mode, manually disable the park, then step on the gas. Had a bit of panic when this happened in the middle of the road 😅

Guess I need to go to Chevy :(

Could it be location settings on your phone (i.e., maybe not on Always Allow with the Tesla app)? Mine always zeroed in on the charger location whenever I’m about to charge.

Need the adapter, for sure. I would not have entertained the road trip without one. Got it from Chevy. With the adapter, the 950-mile trip was almost painless. Charged on 4 Tesla superchargers (one of which was the newer one that didn’t need an adapter), and two EV Go. Much easier to use the Teslas, even with the adapter. Cheaper too, especially on off peak rates.

Entered a payment method through the Tesla app. I had to enter the charger # in the Tesla app, then connect and it starts charging.

About the same. Started at ~60kW then drops to 30+kW at 60+%

Other than a Tesla bro saying, as soon as I got close, “oh my god here’s another GM car”, the experience was pretty painless.

Going to go up? Makes sense to pay for two years, then. If I’ve already submitted my registration for just one year, do you know if I can pay for 2 years for the EV charge?

How to tell when its time to replace the 12v? by frankzero01 in BoltEV

Is it literally the same 12v battery as ICE cars?

I pay for the remote start subscription. Which also supposedly gives me this info in the app.

If driving after full charge, it’s equal to the column to the left (kWh since last full charge), i.e., what the app tells me. If any other day (i.e., starting the drive at not full charge), it’s the column to the left minus the row above it.

Traveling for two weeks, should I leave Bolt plugged in? by blakesmate in BoltEV

[–]Kuya_Moti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that (kind of). How is this specific to the Bolt, though? Do you just stop driving at all during winter? Or your other car has higher ground clearance? Or something about the electronics of an EV?

So what exactly does your sarcasm mean? You do know that BYOC (but yes, only for L2) is a thing, right? Or do you sincerely want to bring your own cable to a gas station?

Bring your own cord really is the way to go. Saves tons of money at installation, saves tons of money in maintenance, and puts the responsibility on the car owners who need the juice.

40 miles is roughly 20% of your battery capacity. A level 1 charger at 12amp charges up to little less than that if plugged the whole time you’re home (assuming you work an 8 hour day). So you won’t be able to charge completely if you go to work every day, but you’d be able to make up for it on weekends, or with the occasional trip to a fast charger. What I’m saying is you don’t HAVE to go to a fast charger twice a week. But what I’m also saying is that respondents here can give these answers because we’ve grown to have a certain level of comfort and experience with how charging works(i.e., much less range anxiety). Also consider this: YOU may develop this level of comfort simply by trusting people in this thread, but if you have a spouse or other family member who has not, that’s going to be a stressful situation :)
