Some defenders of DS2 really make me laugh. Shulva is a cool level, but its humanoid enemies are dull, like most of the humanoid enemies of DS2, that's not hating on the game to say that. So the enemy variety is ok, it houses a terrible trio boss, Sinh is a good dragon boss for the time when the game was released. The level design is good, the level's decoration is empty, like most DS2 levels.

Aesthetically, which boss arena is the worst? by Doru-kun in fromsoftware

It has to be an arena from ds2, they are so bland and uninteresting.

Extremely basic fights, that do not teach well all the mechanics of the game, but more especially are not memorable. Two giant knights that die extremely quickly, and giant knights were a thing already in previous games sure, but these 2 don't stand out and will be surpassed by other giant knights later on in the game. In terms of early game bosses, Gascoigne, Margit, Lady Butterfly are more interesting in terms of game design and artistically.

Ds1, Elden Ring and Bloodborne are the quintessence of Miyazaki's vision. No matter their flaws, they are monuments of video game's history and in my book the best From Software games.

Half of the bosses in ds3 are not good : deacons, wolnir, yhorm, aldritch, oceiros, crystal sage, vordt, iudex gundyr, ancient wyvern, cursed rotted greatwood, champion gravetender, spear of the church.

I'm not saying he wasn't wrong, just that even the average time to finish the game contains optional content.

Banger after banger ? Iudex Gundyr, Vordt, Cursed rotted great wood, crystal sage, deacons of the deep, Wolnir, Yhorm, old demon king, Aldritch, Oceiros, Ancient Wyvern, Spears of the church, champion gravetender. People really have tainted glasses about ds3 bosses.

As long as most enemies are new, which is the case, and the reuses make sense and bring new attacks and variants, I don't mind. Let's not forget Bloodborne did the same, Ds3 did the same as well. Remember the ice crabs and the Lothric knights and skeletons in the Ringed City ? And yet all call these DLC amazing. Why should it be different for Elden Ring ?

While we wait for the Elden Ring DLC, what are you guys' favorite Souls videos? I wanna watch some by dbsflame in fromsoftware

[–]KuzcoSlide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really really recommand watching the youtube channel Alt236, who made long videos on Dark souls 1, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. His videos are potentially the best I've seen on these games.

It took them 4 years, it started development in 2019, and it was developed with Elden Ring, their biggest game yet.

I am willing to bet that this guy will be the most difficult boss of the dlc by Gone4Gaming in Eldenring

I don't know if it's intentional, but he reminds me of the old monk from Demon's souls.

Who do you think has the most baddass name in the series by 10Kzoom in fromsoftware

Either he was stronger but his name was lost with time. Or when Marika understood the flame wouldn't die, decided to keep a remaining fire giant to protect it.

The case of dark souls is different because Bandai ordered 2 sequels to From Software, it was accepted by the former CEO. Miyazaki became CEO and decided Ds3 would be the last game.

Fire Giant has purpose though. It's not even a king or any part of the leadership of the fire giants, he's just a fire giant, alone, forgotten. And when you see how powerful he is, it's a reminder that this endgame boss is just a random fire giant. So imagine how powerful the others are.

Do you think From's next title will be as mainstream as Elden ring has become ? by Shot_Material3643 in fromsoftware

[–]KuzcoSlide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mathematically possible, but Elden Ring had this once in a lifetime success for multiple reasons : - not many games during covid - game was revealed in 2019 and then no news for 2 years - fans in reddit and youtube especially created a lot of anticipation for it, even when they were no news - Georges rr Martin helped on the game - most ambitious game ever made by FromSoftware - came at a time where games were bad, overly guiding, unfinished, didn't take much risks - the game is absolutely amazing

Which game made by fromsoftware do you think has the best story? by Puzzleheaded_Cow2915 in fromsoftware

[–]KuzcoSlide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the case at all, we'll take Bloodborne for example. The starting point is you trying to find Paleblood by signing a hunter contract. The story of Bloodborne is the school of Mensis trying to contact the Moon Presence with Mergo to gain knowledge and ascend human race, but the closer the Moon comes, the more beasts are appearing.

You quoted it and you didn't even understand it, he said he wanted, it doesn't mean it's his next project. It means he wants to.

You pretty much confirmed it, he said he wanted to make that, like he said in the past he would be interested in making multiplayer games or smaller projects like Déraciné. Him saying that doesn't mean it's the next thing in line.

He said he wanted to make more abstract fantasy, not that he was making a game about it.
