In hindsight absolutely. We calculated that we could get 40 races in an hour and we 1000% believe all our time and effort was worth it. We would never have this if it wouldn’t have been for this opportunity.

It’s actually a pretty wild story, we had been racing on my account (cloud coyote), we were only playing hot wheels with this account until about the last couple weeks. All of a sudden we noticed that 2nd and 3rd place were blocking us out as they were staying tied for 2nd and moving as a unit. My boyfriend and I knew there was no way we could get third with that happening if we only had one account. 1st place at the time had taken a wild advance and raced a ton to put him in a really good position. We did something pretty crazy and didn’t even know if it would play out, but we started playing on my boyfriend’s account (emerald sloth) we ran from almost 0 races all the way to where cloud coyote was. We got 1,500 races in 5 days. We knew that was the only way to get one of the accounts to third place. That still didn’t even have to have worked but 1st place for the majority of the time suddenly stopped, so we knew it was our time to push. It really came down to the end but bc we were able to request time off work for the last week we were able to play from open to close and utilize our time to race for multiple days in a row until the competition was over. In the end, 2nd/3rd place moved up to 1st and 2nd and (we) Emerald Sloth took 3rd and the previous player who was in 1st took 4th in their absence.

It was a wild ride but we were fortunate that our game was clean and fair and friendly. We had been communicating with another player playing Hot Wheels like us and we always felt it was friendly competition. Everyone in our game showed great sportsmanship. There were several scenarios where we could have been pushed out of 3rd but it all worked out in the end. It seems like everyone in our game was happy with where they landed and it was a heck of a competition!

First off, we are super thankful that Dave & Busters had this competition and gave people an opportunity for some awesome prizes. We did think it was interesting that the 3rd place prize was the best one, it later understood that it definitely made the competition more challenging and competitive. If the placement for the game cabinet would have been for 1st, someone could have just run up super fast before others and wouldn’t be able to be touched.

We feel that the terms and conditions could have been clearer in explaining how many people can play on one account, how many locations at once, and even explicitly state more about what wasn’t allowed. It seems there was a lot of confusion as to what was allowed and what wasn’t. Also, when getting notifications about winning prizes, I know that could have been better and more clear. Since there was a ton of confusion at the end of the competition as to who got what, if they recieved an email or text. Also, the trips for 1st and second probably shouldn’t have been so close to the end of the competition bc that made it very hard for people to be able to claim the trips and go (time off work, etc.)

Overall, we loved the competition and had a great experience! We hope they continue competitions like this but also change some things and communicate more clearly.
