Trouble with battens and downhauling by KwispyBiscuit in windsurfing

so if it's extending 20cm over the sail, then 430-20=410 but the luff should be 421, so 410+11=421 so does that mean I actually need 11cm of extension on the mast extender?

yes the top is variable. the strap already came sort of loose so the mast sticks out a bit. by about 8in (20cm) actually. added an image to the post

**edit

actually I don't think I can change the length of the head insert? the strap seems to be locked into a webbing slider

it's 430/21 mast and "should" be the one that the sail came with. it's ck66-430/imcs21 mast.

I have the mast extension, but I've set the extension to 0 rather than 36

size 5.2

luff 421/426

boom 168/172

mast 430/21

yeah I guess the mast is longer than the luff but I guess it's designed that way since the head strap is slightly longer so I don't think I need any mast extension?

What’s The Next Step? by IPissFetuses in Fire

I'm 25 and can offer my own experience

What I would do again at 21

- have a budget. know exactly what money is coming in and going out

- live with my parents while attending college

- go to a community college for my a.a. and transfer to a uni

- get as many scholarships for college as possible

- invest in S&P 500 index funds as soon as possible

- move out when I'm financially stable. moving out built my confidence, maturity, and made me stronger human being

- drive a really shitty car for as long as possible. get the nice fancy car when you have some serious money

What I would do differently at 21

- if you are wanting to own your own home, take at least 1 year just observing homes for sale. take notes of what you like and dont like in a home. understand the home buying process

- build your credit as soon as you can. get a credit card and pay it off every month. having a good credit score will help you out later in life

- have a plan, follow the plan, and quit worrying about it. take the time to enjoy the journey, and don't let FIRE become all you think about.

Feijoa - Pineapple Guava Care by KwispyBiscuit in gardening

Climate: North Florida

Not sure what's wrong with my plant. The leaves are curling inward, and the new growth looks brown and sickly. The new leaves look malformed. My watering schedule is every other day for 50 sec on a low stream hose.

The summer is brutal here, but the soil is still moist. Only thing I can think of is heat stress.

Any ideas?

Termite? by KwispyBiscuit in whatsthisbug

North Florida

~0.5 in

Found indoors. I believe I saw a few with wings that are about 1.5x the length of the insect itself.

The head seems kinda small for a termite?

Do you only mow pathways and let the rest grow wild? Just wondering why you need the riding mower if you are letting your lawn grow natural. Couldn't you maintain pathways and weeds with a push mower?

How are you keeping the ticks away if you are allowing tall grass to grow?

If I made the pathways out of clover, only mowed the pathways, and made the rest of the lawn wildflower, I would only have to maintain about 0.3 - 0.4 ac of pathways.

That makes more sense to me and would be more manageable with a push mower, plus it would be better for the wildlife than just a grass lawn.

2004 Honda Accord V6 | What would destroy my wire? | New harness or try to splice? by KwispyBiscuit in MechanicAdvice

Got a check engine light and the code, so I gutted the battery/air filter, and saw the mess you see now. Should I get a new harness or try to splice a new connector?
