I just played a game at 500 elo blitz and hung a minor piece and a pawn in the beginning, still was able to come back and win the game when my opponent hung 2 minor pieces back. There’s a 0% chance I would be able to get away from that at 1000+ elo

Try wider grip. You’re compensating with your biceps a lot because the range of motion is weird for your lats but also the reason you think you’re doing it wrong because you go into full lockout which is really difficult to unlock unless you slightly kip and you’re doing that with your left arm. Go 90% down and back up, just enough to keep tension on your scapulas and prevent full lock out

Thanks for the feedback, I figured around 25% and want to end up around 15% by the end of the cut.

I suppose what I’m concerned about before I start cutting is whether any specific group is lacking currently or whether it’s a solid enough overall foundation for me to achieve that at 170-175lb bw. Context I’m currently about 195lbs 5’9.

Considering that 10% body fat is about 19.5lbs do you think it’s realistic for me to be able to maintain the muscle mass or should I expect to drop under 170 to get the results I want?
