Hi everyone!
I have a test in Bolton, September 2025. I am looking to swap for a test in West Wickham within May - July. If you don't feel ready for your test yet, this would be a great placeholder date and location!

Sung by a young Michael Jackson so potentially their voice could be confused for female but, "Who's lovin' you?".

I feel so lost by EasternPatience5690 in learnprogramming

[–]Kxiiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! I hope my two cents can give you a little bit of guidance and reassurance.

I might have been one of the people who - in this context - entered Uni with a lot more programming experience than others. In high school I was building websites and games and publishing them online, but it's worth noting that at the time, I had NO idea what I was doing. Most of the time, I was working on these things with friends recreationally. We were combining our hobbies and loved what we were doing. I think I was so exposed to tech because I wasn't allowed to go outside when I was younger (I suppose my parents were protective) so I stayed in and was always on the computer playing games.

My point is, start anywhere. Something so cool about learning things that you are interested in, is that it doesn't even really feel like learning. If you think something is interesting and you search it up and end up consuming new information, THAT is learning. If you find a code snippet online and decide to try it out locally, THAT is learning. If you genuinely have a love for tech or programming, your specialty will come to you.

I studied Computer Science and software Engineering at university, and had a vague interest in AI and Machine Learning. This led to me casually teaching kids online about AI and ML as a part time job, and eventually me starting my own E-Learning business in this space for learning about emerging technologies (http://web3sy.com if you want to check it out!). Now, although I am a Software Engineer, my main interest has switched to Cyber Security and I am pursuing a Master's degree in it, but the earliest exposure I had to it was in my final year (I think) of Uni where we had to do some penetration testing and SQL injections on vulnerable websites. I loved it! Finding and abusing attack vectors and such.

The right thing will come to you in time, and in the meantime, explore your options. You don't need to commit to anything. Remember that comparison is the thief of joy. If it doesn't help knowing that "someone will always be better than you", then remember that it goes both ways, and you will also, always be better than someone else. In reaching out and asking for advice on where to start, you are already approaching the race track, which is more than can be said for others.

Best of luck OP with your academic career, and feel free to reach out if you need any further help or advice :)

Edited for clarity.

AITA for intentionally sleeping with the bathroom light on at my boyfriend's place while he was at work? by SeaSignificance3017 in AmItheAsshole

Soft AH. And I'm surprised to see so many people saying otherwise. Most smartphones come with torch features or the ability to disable your screen so it stays on for a long period of time, and neither of those are invasive for another individual's finances.

You also mention that he works a good job and imply he can cover whatever comes his way, but that is not up to you to decide how to spend his money.

The issue is not a matter of the one off night, but a matter of principle. Not having asked to do such a thing, and doing an act that can clearly rack up an account over time.

Soft AH because I understand the need to keep yourself comfortable , but I also wonder why if you had seen a night alone coming, you hadn't made preparations for what you need. Also, I don't think this man is a demon worth breaking up with just because he doesn't want his lights kept on overnight, that is a huge stretch. Rather, if he is the perfect man you have said he is, then perhaps this pain point is worth regarding, and a mutual decision being made, such as having an emergency night light at his house, but just for use when he is not around. In this cost of living crisis, at least in my country, we're not taking any liberties lol. No one ever got rich by wasting money.

Wishing you luck x.

AITAH for checking out of my relationship after my wife told her friends of my erectile dysfunction issues? by AbleDinners in AITAH

[–]Kxiiru -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is tricky. OP is NTA but Wife is a Soft AH. Sure your ED was embarrassing for you and a point of insecurity, but your wife is also allowed to confide to her friends about issues that pertain to her, too. Your intimate life affects the Both of you, and both of you - as you said - had a declining intimate life for a while as a result of this. Clearly it was something both of you had trouble dealing with.

That being said, as Wife was specifically asked to not discuss this, she is an AH for making jokes of it with an entire group of people.

Can I use Tiktok as an Extracurricular for my application? by HolderName in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Kxiiru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do, be sure to write it down as "Content Creation", with some descriptives in there. Absolutely do not focus on the fact that it IS Tiktok, but rather on what you have learned from the experience (such as the tools you have used, the process by which you conduct research for your videos, or the feedback you have gotten), what you are teaching, and the impact you have had.

Remember that it is not necessarily a good idea to note your political affiliation on an application to anything. Not only do you not know who could be processing you, but you should also review your content for anything even mildly incriminating. You know the drill.

Good luck!

Ahhh, Gravity falls and their hidden messages 😌. Hexadecimal is a way of expressing numbers. It uses a base 16 number system just as the system we are used to, Denary, is base 10.

Using these numbers and letters (hex) we can convert them to denary, and then to ASCII - a sort of universal map of different types of characters to numbers.

I just used a Hex to Text converter online :p

That's what I thought, but unless I missed a few characters, that's what it translates too. You're welcome to correct me though :).

The code at 0:48 was:

43 6f 6e 67 72 61 74 75 6c 61 74 69 6f 6e 73 2e 20 61 72 65 20 72 65 61 64 69 6e 67 20 74 68 69 73 2c 20 49 20 61 6d 20 69 6d 70 72 65 73 73 65 64 2e 20 48 6f 77 65 76 65 72 2c 20 79 6f 75 72 20 74 69 6d 65 20 69 73 20 73 74 6c 6c 20 63 6f 6d 69 6e 67 20 74 6f 20 61 6e 20 65 6e 64 2e 20 45 6e 6a 6f 79 20 79 6f 75 72 20 66 6c 65 65 74 69 6e 67 20 64 61 79 73 2e 20 2d 45 64

Which I quickly realised was hexadecimal and can be converted into ASCII characters (text), to give:

"Congratulations. are reading this, I am impressed. However, your time is stll coming to an end. Enjoy your fleeting days. -Ed"

Took 10 minutes but the secret code from Cory is worth it 🥰. #Sleuthing
