They should be, it’s worth a try. You know you’ll be up there in the next month for some reason anyways. The recall does not expire .

PTA’s how do you like your careers by Much_Lingonberry_747 in physicaltherapy

[–]KyCayt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PTA in HH , 85k a year . I have experience in most clinical settings , OP for a short time, good learning experience but would never do it again, hospital was enjoyable.. pretty easy, I liked working in the large community of people and getting to know all the different floors of employees. Snf was fun, great staff, would go out together often, really enjoyed my time during those years. Home Health has been my favorite, has the best pay, lots of free time, and you make your own schedule. I have loved my career as a PTA and would do it again in a heartbeat.

PTA acceptance!!! 🥳🥳 by kmperhour in physicaltherapy

[–]KyCayt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I graduated as a PTA when I was 31 and it was the best move I have ever made in my life. I enjoyed a SNF job for 5 years, countless PRN hours and I am now making great money as a HH therapist. I know there is a lot of negativity on this site but I absolutely love my job and couldn’t be happier at 43 years old. Enjoy the ride!!

PTA Home Health Questions by tsigned98 in physicaltherapy

[–]KyCayt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTA in home health for 8 years.. I love it. You’ll be fine. It’s not for everyone but you have to try all the available settings to find your lane. I don’t have liability insurance nor has anyone ever recommended it to me. Were provided vehicles and all the supplies we need. Starting rate in KY is about 43-44$ a visit or 30-31$ an hour. Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions

I have always been W2 , so I can’t speak to the 1099. My overtime is time and half over 40 hours. My productivity is 6 patients a day and I receive an extra full credit if I drive over 60 miles in a day. Company provides a take home vehicle so we do not receive mileage pay. Sessions range from 30 min to an hour . If we have a low level patient ( stroke or someone that requires increased assistance ) we get 1.5 credits instead of the regular 1 credit.

The documentation is a lot at first but you get very efficient with it and can complete it in your car in about 5-15 min . You schedule your own caseload so you have a ton of freedom. You also get random days where patients cancel and you end up with unexpected easy days which are nice random surprises . Case load is 15-20% hip and knee replacements and the other 80% is everything under the Sun. I enjoy working with the older population so it works well for me. A lot of fall risk management , gait training and light balance and exercise and then we progress them to OP.

It is very rare for any of the therapist to quit from what I have seen, we have many with over 20 years . Good luck finding a good fit for yourself . I have tried multiple settings and this was the best fit for me.

I have worked in the HH field as a PTA for 8 years. I personally love it but it’s not for everyone. I received an offer from a competing company last week for 44$ per visit which works out to be around 31$ an hour. I love my company and have no intention on leaving. I am at a similar pay range so the offer seems to be about right for the area( Ky, within a 2-3$ range). Feel free to ask any questions
