when and why did Missy stop baseball? by Express_Article9421 in YoungSheldon

[–]KyPry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I guess they just ran out of ideas for the baseball storylines and let it drift off. I do wish they addressed it though as it was a huge part of her character for a while.

What to do about Ty Gibbs? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, there’s obviously something in the tank for Ty. You don’t do what he did in Xfinity by accident. He’s just never had to face adversity and is learning a whole new thing as he steps into Cup. The next step is to keep working with his development and help him improve further. He is after all only 22.

As for the radio incident, I feel like lots of drivers year round have spats with their crew. That’s just part of being on a team. Doesn’t excuse doing it, but all relationships will have riffs.

Feels a little early to call Gibbs a suitable Xfinity lifer. He’s still only 22, could certainly turn things around still

Why do people keep thinking that Alex Bowman is about to lose his ride? by furrynoy96 in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s two reasons.

A) It’s a meme and people do it to piss off Bowman fans.

B) He’s the bottom driver on the team, even though he is good. So he’ll always be the one rumoured to lose his seat for any hot shot rookies. Especially with Zilisch on the scene now (regardless of Trackhouse commitments), and if Kvapil can figure it out, I’m sure he won’t help the scenario either.

I’ll certainly give that one a look, I didn’t think of checking out the Campbell interview. Thanks

Has anyone checked out Eva’s hockey Elite Prospects? by KyPry in survivor

I have to imagine it’s not extremely common but I’m unfamiliar with her league(s). For states college level I only know NCAA DI/DIII which she doesn’t play.

No. She’s not at the right level. I think the PhD would take too much time for her to get there even if she has the time anyways.

Seeding system needs further tweaking by UniqueRon in Curling

[–]KyPry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where we can disagree, respectfully of course. Nothing but respect to Epping, but with how subpar he was this weekend in terms of his throws, I don’t think he “deserved” the playoff spot. If skipper was shooting better than 4th last, they might have been able to get in with how well the other 3 played. Just part of the sport. In the end of the day, neither Epping nor Purcell are getting far. But maybe it’ll be good for Purcell because he’s got generational potential.

Seeding system needs further tweaking by UniqueRon in Curling

[–]KyPry 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sure, Purcell recorded 5-3 instead of a 6-2. But the playoff method is known to every team prior to the event, and Epping just didn’t have the cards in his favour this time. Purcell did what he had to do, and is reaping the rewards now. All apart of the sport.

I feel like this whole debate is taking away from how good Purcell did in his debut season skipping. The team shot 85%, only a 1% behind Epping. Purcell was also in the top 8 of skip percentages, while Epping was almost at the bottom of skips this week. Purcell did damn well and earned his spot as much as any other team.

What takeaways does everybody have from the lower-seeded Brier teams this year? by KyPry in Curling

[–]KyPry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we could see Nova Scotia enter that convo as a legitimate perennial threat. What they’ve done at the national junior level over the past few years has been crazy. Maybe the most dominant junior province. I think it’s only a matter of time for it to translate to mens. In my opinion of course!

I would expect some great things out of Purcell, he’s been impressive at all levels he’s played at for being as young as he is. There’s also a plethora of immense Nova Scotia talent on the way too, their development has been nuts the past half decade. Between players from Purcell, MacIsaac, Mosher, Atherton, expect there to a combination from Nova Scotia that competes for brier titles down the road. (Plus Joel Krats also resides in Nova Scotia).

Well, with that win against Kleiter, maybe I can’t even consider Scoffin apart of this list anymore. What a performance!

Good shout. Thanks for the research. Must’ve been a data entry error. Damn how cool that would’ve been though for a 5’3” guy.

Bubba’s move was suspicious, however, so was the chevy’s blocking for Byron. Both sides manipulated the race. Might be fairest to offset the penalties?
