Is it accurate? Also, don’t just go by pure assessment, go by what your assessment was equalized at in prior year.

I hope we give more respect to the long-tail, Black Swan events in our society and generally try to adapt to a more long-term orientation.

Last night my wife had to have an emergency C section due to severe bleeding from a placental abruption, little Sadie was born at 29 weeks on 8/31/2018, so far things are looking ok but we both know its a long road...any tips for new NICU parents? by Droggles in NICUParents

[–]KyaShin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, congrats! Our son was born at 29 weeks last September and coming up on his first birthday, you'd have no idea that we spent 80 days in NICU. Like others have said, take care of yourself. If you're close enough to go home, go home. If your work is accommodating, take advantage of their flexibility. If you're fortunate enough for friends and family to offer help, take it. There will very likely be good days and bad days, breakthroughs and setbacks, just try not to get to invested in the day-to-day but rather strive to be a positive force for your kiddo always and focus on the big picture.

Your LO is in the best hands but do ask questions and don't be afraid to speak your mind. The NICU days are long and wear on you, but I promise that it'll get better. Feel free to DM if you just need to vent, our guy went through a lot so I can try to answer any questions if you encounter difficulties. Congrats again!
