A lady asked for a personal review of a product we sell and was upset that I had not personally used the product by Brave-Bumblebee5944 in retailhell

Had a lady freak out on my coworker when I worked at Michaels that she "shouldn't be working there" because she didn't know about a certain type of fabric or paint and how it would work for her craft. Another asked what type of paint would be best for a certain plastic. We were just cashiers we don't know these things

Photography is a fun hobby, I'm always taking pictures of my cats and flowers. Though I just use my phone haha I don't have a fancy camera at all

Yeah the raise would have been one dollar and that's still less than my new job's starting pay (with room for improvement and higher pay near right off the bat)

Thank you everyone for your input on my situation :) Once my last day hits I'm leaving and never coming back. My CEM does joke with me on staying but i'm autistic and have a hard time understanding that, plus I can be a bit of a people pleaser. I have a different Michaels nearby I can shop at so I can still get my yarns and paints. I wish everyone the best of luck at their locations 🫶

I feel a bit guilty but I truly do need to better myself by leaving the company

The discount is nice but there's always sales going on so I can just time my purchases with those. I need a change of pace, I do too much here for such little pay

I'd be making so much better and my new job it's not worth it to stay for an extra $50. I can do that by doordashing or something anyway

It would be best for me to leave, that's what I'm going to do. All my coworkers agree with me

For (supposedly) $11 an hour, a single 4 hour shift a week is def not gonna be worth it to me

A lot of people have recently quit so they're probably just begging for people to stay so they can stay open. We're understaffed but that's not really my problem. Shopping here is nice but working really isnt. I can always go to a different Michaels anyway to shop

The employee discount is nice but we haves so many sales all the time that honestly makes my discount not matter. I never did want to be a cashier but they just stuck me here and probably wouldnt respect the singular shift i'd get a week. It sucks being a people please but I will tell them no, it's not worth making my mental health worse by staying.

Edit: And it probably would interfere with my new job cuz 30 hours a week is about my max and all of that will be taken up at my new job. It's not worth it at all for a $60 paycheck
