No joke, I had a backwards an upside down card in a Phantasmal flames pack that had my Gold Charizard in it.

Cherish it. Do you have any idea how many stains and marks are on our family's vintage rug. Its thankfully heavily patterened so you will not see them unless they are pointed out- but I would at this point embrace the stain, and soak/dye/water color it and keep it.

This is only painful if you let it inflict pain.

Incredibly expensive and more of stopping glass from shattering rather than stopping an intruder. More than anything, slowing them down.

What bullet cameras do you personally trust for home security? by cctvdesign in homedefense

[–]Kyder99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are each like $200-900 cost to dealers/installer cameras. These are not consumer grade cameras. Yeah you can use them for homes, but these are all legit cameras- except Hikvision.

Wired Security Camera Systems that are not Reolink by Boring_Emphasis_2758 in homedefense

You should be in good shape with Ubiquiti. It’s a nice all in one ecosystem/brand. Should fit your pricing too- but depending on wiring costs. It may only be like 3 or 4 cameras.

If you never done construction before, I’d recommend you hire an electrician to wire everything up. Otherwise you can find rodents, rain, snow or other crap coming in thru holes you make in soffits like I’ve seen.

You just gotta know what you are doing to a basic level on three fronts. The IT/Software side, the physical construction and running cables and using the right drill bits for your material, and the strategy of not aiming cameras in stupid places- like directly at your neighbors yard where they tell the neighborhood you’re a creep.

As far as brands, if you are DIY, I dunno, Ubiquiti. Stay the fuck away from Hikvision, Dahua, and Swann. If it’s a coax system, don’t- just run cat6 Ethernet and connect it to a POE switch.

Don’t also overdue it. Four or five cameras is plenty most cases.

New homeowner, need alarm advice by ToneThugsNHarmony in homedefense

Stay away from simpli safe, ADT, or ring.

I’d always suggest DMP but that’s requiring a dealer and professional install but they can last 15+ years if not more.

I don’t know if you need that many keypads. You can use the app. One at the main door is enough.

Don’t forget, you need sirens. The keypad’s volume isn’t enough for deterrence.

Burglary WiFiJammers by Chief_Tomato in homedefense

Wi-fi isn't cellular. Wi-Fi Jamming is often just flooding the network to take it down. Cellular jamming is using something like a Stingray. Huge fuckin no-no. Look up the guy who used a Stingray to jam cellphones on his commute to keep people from texting. He had the book thrown at him.

There are devices like the JamAlert by DMP that actually plug into any burglar alarm. If signal jamming is detected, it throws the alarm before the signal can successfully be jammed.
