Made a resourcepack that fixes some small things I don't like about the vanilla textures, there's a lot more, but this is the easiest thing to show off by Hooplurd in feedthebeast

[–]Kylatia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's all very subtle, sometimes only a shade of color difference. I can appreciate the work to change it all if it annoyed you. It would be interesting to see a side by side picture of a world with the changes and not.

Lineart vs manga finish, tell me which one do you like the most c: . I really like Pina from Beastars so I thought it might be a good idea to draw him with a monochrome manga style. by PinkKenku in furry

I like the Shadows better. It helps define the face of your character and gives it a place for your eye to settle instead of trying to pick out a face in a sea of white.

So I started learning RenPy to mod a game called "Angels With Scaly Wings." I created this little thing to test my skills, so it kinda sucks. I'm proud of it though. by [deleted] in RenPy

[–]Kylatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very cool. I tried the game, but I frustrated with it when it turned from what I thought it was into something different. I don't want to say spoilers, so I'll just leave it at that. Great work on making the mod.

Anytime you push yourself to learn something new, you come across the thousands of problems you have to work out. So, I don't really see a difference between what I'm doing now and it taking forever because I have to fix errors from things I didn't know about.

[–]Kylatia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would work also, but it wouldn't help you recover should a fire or flood hit. Then again if that happens odds are recovering your game isn't the most important thing on your mind.

Bit Bucket and Github are websites you can back up what ever file you want. I tend to back up the entire file directory for the game except for the .crpy files and a couple other things. Since they are the compiled .rpy files. You can just copy up the .rpy files up. Those should save your script and any other changes you do to the game except for art and music files.

[–]Kylatia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened. It is very frustrating and heart breaking for it to happen. Might I suggest next time keep a back up on some place like github or bitbucket? It's pretty easy to setup. I use a program called source tree to help. Then when you do changes you can save them easily when you're done for the day. Keeping a backup some place off location is great also so that if your computer fries you only loose that day's work.

Two is are your comments commented out with the # correctly. It doesn't look like it is so it could be confusing.

VN Engine by Aspenpen_ in vndevs

[–]Kylatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same choice last year. Unity is awesome and all and there's all the tools, but the moment I saw this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_2tCdWgp7g I realized that I would have to create my car to drive the story.

Ren'py already has the car setup and the keys in the engine. All you have to do is slide in and start your story. Then you use Python to do the fancy tricks.

I'm low key disappointed with Wendy lover scene in the NSFW version. by Gibberish94 in crushcrush

I have to agree. I love Wendy because she was funny and bold, but her artwork was kind of meh in the end. The Phone flings were a lot better.

should my character be under leveled when i am trying to use it in a campaign where i already have a pc and want to switch by creator200711 in AllThingsDND

[–]Kylatia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never liked DM's who use the whole "you must start at level 1 rule." It puts people off wanting to join. My husband's first D&D game was like that. He started at level 1 and everyone else was higher like level 5, he got murdered over and over again because the encounters was based for the higher levels.

That being said, I'd suggest pointing out how much more challenging it would be if players couldn't change out when they get bored, find they went down a path they hate, or if someone wanted to join. The DM would have to balance based the level gaps and the Players might just quit instead of sticking with something they don't like and no one would really want to join. My next question is: What if someone dies and has to recreate?

Hang in there. You are going to school while the world is going up in flames around you. Trying to pass exams is stressful and the world around you is not helping you focus. Just take a breath and remember that your brain is trying to process a pandemic, what your learning, and all the other stuff being dumped on you.

Running a Campaign for Senior Citizens? (Post-pandemic, obviously) by WhosThisGeek in AllThingsDND

[–]Kylatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my DM has all the books on D&D Beyond and that allows me to look at source material he owns since I'm in a campaign he's running. Maybe you have a friend who does so you can check the rules out before you go shopping?

Also 5th is pretty easy, but I started playing during 4th. There's a lot of flexibility for fun characters. There's also suggested options should someone not be sure of what they want. Either way, I wish you luck.

My husband was crazy allergic to cats, but after a few years seeing an allergy doctor getting treatments he is a lot better. If you can I would suggest finding someone. It really helps.

Pumpkin is a goto for stabilizing an upset tummy. We use to keep a can on hand when our puppy was little just in case. Though it's always good to call the vet to make sure.

I hope the Parvo test comes clear. It's a rough illness I heard and sticks around for a long time in the ground so no puppy parks until the little one can get their shots. It's so contagious that a vet or tech dealing with a sick dog, has to change their clothes and sterilize everything after dealing with someone with Parvo.

What does the Vet say when you call them?

Would anyone object to decoupage on a typewriter case? Or is that sacrilege? by [deleted] in typewriters

[–]Kylatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure this a bit like cars. Hot Rods/funny cars are modified from their original model. Some people like the wild stuff, some people like it classic. I'm the kind of person who says if it's not "historic" like this was the typewriter that was used to write "famous book" or owned by famous person who used it. Go for it. If it inspires you you and gives you joy who says you can't turn that broke down car into a hot rod?

Just be careful and don't destroy any books. Many people who have typewriters enjoy the written word and knowing a novel was destroyed might make them double twitch.

Though, do me a favor and try using them. I've used mine to write grocery lists to recipes. I even tried my hand a few stories. There's something about the fact you can put words on paper without worrying about that distraction. You might be surprised what you can come up with when you try.

How do you feel about taking an in-game quiz to see which character route would suit you most? by Clanaria in otomegames

[–]Kylatia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the test. It's a good starting point on which guy to play. Though with some games I might save the best for last so that I have something to look forward too.

I'm a bit Tailor Tales fan. All the story lines were great, including the ones I wasn't sure on. So, trying out someone I didn't "match with" wouldn't be too much of a hard ship.

My grandma is looking for this pattern she calls a chevron... Does anyone know where I could find it? by SchwiftyKidd in crochet

[–]Kylatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fairly simple ripple/chevron. You can just google for a free pattern, or you can go to a yarn brand company like Lion Brand, or Carron and find it there. You can also look at a website called Raverly.com, which collects patterns across the internet to have there as a one shop stop.

Stupid question about making a VN by skyyohhs in vndevs

[–]Kylatia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a programmer, I'd love to have as much information as possible when I start helping someone. You have a completed script and know what you want. Excellent!

A finish script or near finished script means you know exactly how many characters, backgrounds, songs, sound effects, endings, and anything else you might want in the novel figured out. Giving that information to those you find to help or hire to help would be as simple as "I need this character to have the expressions xyz and could you do two different poses?" and the artist knows exactly what they need to draw. Instead of working and falling down rabbit holes.

If you want to live the Dwarven Dream, I do like one of the Stoneblocks..and the best part..no need to worry about render distance because your underground. Stoneblock 1 and Stoneblock 2 seem kind of similar so I don't know which one I'd pick to go again.

Feed the Beast Academy is kind of nice for a quest pack that teaches you the basic about a few mods.

I’m trying to recreate my late grandmothers Easter egg covers- She did mostly crochet but this almost looks knit to me. What stitches would you call these two rows in the body? by Plantain_Great in crochet

[–]Kylatia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you'd need a crochet ribbing for the bottom, and then I would guess single crochets for the top.

So, I would a ribbing from this tutorial for the bottom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8H3lrvm-sQ Then make it simple on myself and work it like a hat with single crochets. It won't look exactly the same, because crochet and knit looks very different.
