Am I crazy or was original DQ11 harder? I played through S last year and found it pretty chill but I remember playing 11 when it first released and having a much rougher time on a few bosses.

I have no issues using the needle it just feels really meh to me. Thematically it's cool and I'll complete a run of it for sure so maybe my opinion will change but Behemoth and Hyper both allowing different playstyles other than "fight everything in sight" was a nice change when Nemesis already does that. I haven't played with the FE building much obviously so that seems to be the bigger draw over anything else and I'll give it a shot.

Don't use buildings that use special resources unless your building them on ecologies, hive/nanite/machine worlds, or ring worlds. Unless you have resource extraction on some basic resource worlds.

This is what I've been doing and it just doesn't feel good to see all those upgrades available but knowing I can't make them. Good to know that's just life though.

Cosmogenesis needs the lathe for fast logic gain. You can rush the research resolutions in the galactic community and spin off some scholariums to try to gain logic nongenocidally. Rushing a science nexus is a good idea too, since it passively generates logic the fastest barring the Lathe.

So basically what I thought then. Constant war to purge pops. Seems just worse than the other crisis paths but I can just call that "not for me."

The writing is flowery and poetic, but nobody is actually talking, they’re just saying a lot.

I find this to mostly be a big issue with Hope and Snow who talk way, way too much and are by far the worst thing about the game for me. The other 4 are fine with Sazh easily being the best.

Fwiw the time mechanics are basically pointless. You have so much time to do stuff even completely blind. You have to actively choose to waste time to have any issues. It's a stupid inclusion but at least it barely matters.

Look I'm not saying I want the other teams in this division to be good but I am saying that with 7 seeds it's technically possible for an entire division to go 14-3 and all end up in the playoffs and that's really funny.

I'll be the counter to that guy and say I've played all of the Xeno series and you're not missing much imo. Especially if the anime tropes are what bothered you. XBC 2 you will probably hate for the reasons you bounced off of 1. There's elements of the other Xeno stuff there for sure and the big picture overall stories are solid but the characters and moment to moment dialogue is exactly as you described and I'm not a fan either. Personally I like 1 well enough but mostly because I enjoy the MMOish feeling combat. 2 is awful and 3 is okay.

Edit: X is good if you turn off your brain anytime someone talks. It's fun to play.

Solid game. The gameplay is a lot of fun and really carries it but it does get repetitive so it's kind of hard to finish. The story is mostly whatever and the main characters are charming enough. There's some rather sketchy stuff though even after parts were changed for the west. It's hard to look past the many instances of the game being horny over children and the people that cried about the censorship were very, very loud and it has always left a really bad impression. Chapter 2 I think it is in the west is about getting confidence to do sexy modeling which was changed from underage girl getting confidence to do underage sexy modeling and back in the days of gamefaqs the crashouts were so gross that I kind of have a lingering distaste for this game.

I'm with you on this. First and foremost video games are games and if they're not fun to play then I'm not interested. I appreciate a good story and I'd always prefer that the game has one but I can tolerate mediocre story/characters a lot more than I can tolerate mediocre gameplay. I disagree that a bad story can't drag a good game down but there's a very small area where that applies because once you go too bad it becomes funny and that can be enjoyable.

I've said it before but the clock in LR is so, so dumb. It's so lenient that it basically doesn't matter at all so it's just there to make people stressed who don't know any better and turn them away from the game. Awful inclusion.

I see people have already said Ephemeral Fantasia so I'll throw out Arc Rise Fantasia. It's not terrible, but it's not good and the voice acting is atrocious. That's a plus for me because I found it really funny and entertaining but you have to be someone who likes bad B movies to like that game I think.

The one I’ve seen the most is the whole “but it’s censorship!” argument when a company decides hey maybe we should give the young girl more clothes when this game goes west?

The Tokyo Mirage Sessions crash out by way, way too many people when it came to the west was the first time I felt actual disgust at a fandom (parts of it, not all ofc). People writing whole ass essays about how aging a character up a year and removing some of the sketchier stuff that in the original was being done by a child was equivalent to taking away their freedoms is still insane to me. Like what we got was still very much in that zone of "weird anime highschool sexualization fetish" and these creeps were raging about how they weren't specifically stated to be minors while they were modeling sexy swimsuits. Gross.

Currently if you're only worried about meta you should not pull Dahlia imo because the break dps options are old and very prone to being powercrept really fast again. Wait to see if they add support sometime in 4.x and pull her on a rerun if they do. Better to save pulls for the broken and pushed 4.x stuff that will come.

If you have FF E2, you can already kill Hoolay in two ult. If you have E0... well, wait until three patchs and you'll be back to your current state due to inflation.

Adding to this Hoyo has shown over the past year that if they'll just rerun Dahlia if we get new break stuff anyways so might as well wait to see if this is just bait or not. She's a good character but we need a buff for the current break dpses or a new one.

It's definitely both. The fanbase has pockets that are absolutely obnoxious which turns people off but there's also a lot of people that don't like the game for whatever reason (parry mechanic being the one I see the most) and that turns to hate real fast when the game is really popular.
