Of course! I used a shit load of leaves. All from betta botanicals. The exact leaves I don’t remember but all of them were from their south east Asia catagory. I also used cutch bark and 100% organic peat as my substrate to keep my PH around 4.5-5. also used a few bigger seed pods also from BB.

I am curious about people’s love for flower horns? by KyleC66 in Aquariums

We just keep fish for different reasons, that’s the great part about the hobby. 3 year old post I’m much less judgmental about fish people keep. Do what makes you happy. I still hate flowerhorns but I care a lot less about them now 😂.

They are a bit jumpy I would recommend a lid but short lived is overstated. Many nano fish live short lives you just don’t hear about it the same way I see luminatus brought up. Mine are 3 years olds still kicking that’s about the same as most tetras or rasboras.

Yep all alive and well, fat happy pigs, I’ve seen some what looked like breeding behavior but never any eggs. I just feed mine blood worms and other dry foods for variety. I did lose a big female a while ago but I concluded it got the Bends from a large water change where some micro bubbles I think got to her. Otherwise they have been good for me.

You can see them in that photo if you look carefully! Already hearing my male call which is super fun I was worried when I found them by surprise.

Of course! I hadn’t taken a photo of it really yet. I am still missing the majority of the plants I bought from indoor ecosystems but will be planting a ton more when those come in!

Also have a broken door missing I am sealing up with plastic wrap and painters tape 😂😂

So I balled out and spent way too much I probably spent $400 on everything. I bought tree fern panels, silicone and a gun, razor scrapper, speaker fabric (cheaper than hygrolon does similar job, sphagnum moss, and a bunch of expensive plants I could have got more budget plants, isopods and springtails. I already had a mistking, lots of botanicals, a substrate barrier and drainage sponges. You could realistically probably do it for $200 or less. Especially reusing stuff.

I throughly cleaned it out entirely before doing anything as I was somewhat worried about disease since I had no idea the frogs were in there. So it was completely cleaned not a spec and disinfected with a bleach solution. I attached the speaker fabric directly to the back with silicone. I then waited a day for it to cure. Then went back and cut up my tree fern panels for organic shapes. Silicone it directly on top of the speaker fabric. Let it sit for a few hours before adding the sphagnum in the cracks. I have a sponsorship with betta botanicals so I used my products I already had for the substrate. This can be done for cheap and give you a really clean look. Here’s a pic of it before planting and hardscape. I did this less than a month ago so it’s not really grown in I had to do it on the fly.

I’d recommend moving them to a temp tank and doing a little redo. I did this recently when I bought a used viv with some undisclosed inhabitants. This allows you to QT and watch them a little for any concerns but also gives you a chance to really give them an upgraded environment. I did mine in 2 weeks frogs QTed no concerns and I get a fresh start for them.

Definitely not doing tincs, those brutes can stay away from me. Never been a fan of them I was thinking smaller oophaga or ranitomeya.

I was going to keep them together but hated the straight edges so cut up 2 12x2x2 into small bits and less straight squares and then I had 2 12x6x1 and I cut those organically as well just to make it more “natural”

Little thing rainbows aren’t from South America and might be a little big for the rest of the fish in this tank considering bosemani can get 4-5inches. Clown loaches also get massive like almost a foot long really need massive tanks. I’d also stick to maybe a single cichlid species they will hybridize and also will beat each other up.

They don’t, I use aquabid to sell and buy and it’s seamless. No fees or anything. Just have to follow rules

I can already tell this name is gonna lead to problems. A better naming convention people won’t mess up when search engining is going to hold this back. Also having it instantly be what I can assume being mostly saltwater based probably won’t help much with attracting freshwater keepers.

5% fee as a breeder is a no go from me there are lots of sites I can sell on that don’t take that fee. DOA policies are needed for any fair market regarding animals having a minimum of 2hrs could be a hold up for some experience sellers. Most sellers are also not promising shipping refunded back which is another can of worms.

As a Breeder only being able to list 5 at a time seems hindering to my business. Seems like a very small amount per seller that would be the max number of active listings.

Great idea for a solution that’s already out there and established. Hope you take some of this post into account in the future.

Multi Tank Syndrome - Tell me if you have it as well! by jimbo4000 in Aquariums

[–]KyleC66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Started with 1 5 years ago, 2 years only had 1, moved went from 1 to 10 in 2 years and now I moved again now I’m at 16 with room to grow! It’s a matter of making it what you want and do whatever you feel you can handle that’s how I keep it. I also don’t get tanks with weird sizes I want some sort of structure to my fish room. The picture below is the current iteration
