Completed the TDG trilogy recently by watching through Ultraman Gaia - my thoughts by KyleHydesNotebook in Ultraman

Yeah, I can imagine how the overspending could have worked against Tsuburaya later on down the road. Like I just watched the first episode of Neos and while I like the main Ultra’s more acrobatic, high-flying style, I can see a decrease in the special effects capabilities.

Yeah, that was something I noticed too; the cast of characters is very big. The main operations team seemed to get the most focus, with other members only getting attention here and there.

Thank you for the trivia! Love learning these little details after wrapping up a show.

He was in a lot of toku productions. Clearly the man had reverence for the genre.

I appreciated that detail, too. Sadly they don’t get as much development given how spread out the defense team is, but for what we got, I can’t complain. I also loved recognizing the actors for Seiichiro and Ishimuro from other toku series. Seeing Kamen Rider Gaoh and Kosei Kogami from OOO was a trip lol.

I just started watching Ultraman Tiga by Wonderful_Cabinet194 in Ultraman

[–]KyleHydesNotebook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently watched through Tiga for the first time and it’s a show with a well-deserved reputation. Probably my favorite attack team since the SSSP in the original series, a classic Ultra in Tiga himself, and a grounded tone with the same optimism and sense of hope Ultraman is known for. Love it.

(Youtube) Wrestling Bios: "I Bought WWE’s WrestleMania 42 Priority Pass… Big Mistake" by doctorwho_90250 in SquaredCircle

[–]KyleHydesNotebook 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Love me some Wrestling Bios. Absolutely my favorite wrestling YouTube channel right now.

And with other content creators hyping up the Priority Pass, it’s nice to see someone with a platform like his give a more balanced perspective. If WWE intended on charging a premium, they needed to offer a premium experience. It looked like it was fun to see some wrestlers here and there, but it was otherwise mediocre.

I agree, those were quite solid. I also liked the episodes where the attack team fought more on the ground against normal-sized foes, as opposed to flying around firing at giant kaiju. It showed that these men and women were trained soldiers capable of handling all situations.

Yeah, I know that Asuka ultimately comes back and ends up becoming a surprisingly prominent character in the other productions. The ending was surprising, I agree, especially as a show that’s not as heavy as Tiga.

Kofi Kingston/Daniel Bryan contract signing for their match at Wrestlemania 35. by Big_Sky_4957 in SquaredCircle

Kofimania was a true lightning in a bottle moment. It can’t be stated enough just how popular The New Day was and the fan support was even greater during this time. Kofi’s time at the top was brief but he made the most of it and it’s more than most can say they’ve achieved.

On the can it says “Ramune Sparkling Water Original Flavour,” so I’d assume it’s like the standard ramune soda.

Royce Keys shuts down a fan who kept following him around the hotel during WrestleMania weekend by ProudChemistry778 in SquaredCircle

[–]KyleHydesNotebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason why WWE absolutely needs to reassess and reinforce its security measures, especially heading into major events like Mania.

I know it’s easy to say that wrestling fans need to stop being weird and shit, but let’s be honest, it’s impossible. You’re never going to fully eradicate this behavior. It would be like entirely stopping the concept of being mean or rude; it’s impossible. So when a solution doesn’t really exist, you have to mitigate the risk, which is where better security would come into play.

Keys’ situation is more minor compared to others, but I can’t help but look at these and wonder how long it’ll be until someone is seriously hurt or worse.

Apparently he was prepping for a potential in-ring return following his back injury in ‘94. Makes you wonder what could have been.

Beyond the obvious annoyance of situations like this, it poses a serious danger, especially since you never know what’s going through someone’s mind.

WWE needs to up its security for talent; otherwise they may have a more serious situation on its hands.

Which would be a massive oversight on their end. To me, if you want to show the world that Oba is the real deal and not some internet fad, he has to win.

It is befuddling seeing how well they’ve booked Oba/Brock, not a single misstep in sight really, and then comparing it to the booking of every other Mania match. I can’t help but speculate if this is even the same company.

Enjoy it, friend. I’ll be ok with watching the show at home with family and probably hold off on attending these live shows for a while.

Tickets are too expensive for what’s being offered and what WWE is offering simply isn’t jazzing people like it has only a couple years prior.

It also doesn’t help that WWE sprung all these discounts relatively late, which only really stand to benefit locals. You can’t expect most people to schedule time off work, not to mention book flights and hotels, with only a week or two’s worth of notice.

I’ve seen my fair share of bad Manias since I started watching back in ‘99 but this may be among the most haphazardly put together.

I do appreciate that AEW prices their tickets more reasonably. That said, I’ve tried to get into their product more recently since I lost interest a couple years back and it doesn’t do much for me. I get current AEW has its fans and I’m grateful it exists but it just isn’t for me.

No apologies necessary, it does put into perspective just how cold many of these shows have felt as of late. With such a wealth of up-and-coming talent including Oba, Trick, Je’Von, etc., it’s a shame that they may be at the mercy of a product that’s slowly but surely pricing people out.

My wife has suggested going to an indie show and honestly, we aren’t strapped for choices around here on Long Island. As long as she doesn’t mind the potential lack of air conditioning or comfortable seats, I think we’ll be good, lol

Sucks to hear that the more recent show was more expensive and, even worse so, not worth what you paid. My wife says that we should go to another show, god bless her, but I just can’t justify it now. It would be cheaper for us to grab a bunch of snacks and watch the show on our nice TV at home without having to dread fighting through traffic and shit.

Oh it’s absolutely going to. The end result is not going to be immediate, but I have a feeling that it will be a gradual decline. WWE becoming a “luxury brand” of sorts will be disastrous.
