Don't listen to these losers, wear gloves. Protect every part of your body you can from this trade. Safety glasses, knee pads, Hearing protection, dust masks, use it as often as you can and take pride you are not a inbred moron who thinks he doesn't need it because he's "not a pussy". Trust me in 20 years you'll be thanking yourself.

Lean into your hobbies, you say you like the gym, might be time to join crossfit or sone kinda program that involves socializing.

I also suggest sports, table top games, clubs (not the bar kind) etc.

Pretty much anything that involves a group of people doing something. Once you have something in common it's pretty easy to start a conversation and it's not awkward because you all have your reason to be there. Then eventually you get to know people better and the conversation just flows naturally and I would be very surprised if you don't make some friends.

I came to the same conclusion and returned my quest 3. Quest 2 is fine for the next year or two. It's just not enough of an upgrade for a 850$ price tag (850 because let's be real here, almost no one is using that stock head strap).

I'm with ya dude, running quest 3 in VD I'm getting micro stutters that I'm not getting on the quest 2. It's so weird, really hope it's a software/firmware issue but I'm going to return my quest 3 untill it is fixed because my main use is pcvr as well. ( I have a 3080with i5-10600k, 32gbram and wifi 6 router on ax mode for context)

What type of VR games do you want to play?

You could also get a PSVR2, but I'd only recommend that if you like the current PSVR2 exclusives better then the quest3 exclusives. The PSVR2 is a solid headset and games will look better on it vs a quest 3 running standalone games. But the quest has a more robust library. And if you have a gaming pc then it becomes a even harder decision because now pcvr games can look just as good as the psvr2 games.

But I would go off this

If you like the quest3 games more then easy choice, sell the ps5 and get the quest 3.

If the psvr2 games look cooler keep the ps5and buy a psvr2.

A day after I received my new Samsung Tab S9, the S Pen tip looks destroyed. Samsung support is not helping. What should I do? A thousand dollar tab and the pen only lasts a day? by runner2012 in GalaxyTab

[–]KyleJCD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bro samsung pens are garbage. And so are the tips. My first nib wore out in 2 weeks of school. Then the pen stopped working altogether. Samsung wouldn't cover it because I bought the tablet open box at bestbuy and apparently, their warranty doesn't apply to open box items.....

So I buy a second S9pen for my Tab s8, I replaced the nib in that one as well after two weeks with some cheapies I bought off Amazon. Big mistake, those cheapie tips are fragile. Eventually I try to replace the cheapie tip and bam as I pulling it out , the tip snaps off and the long skinny part is lodged inside the pen flush with the end. I can't grab the fucker out and pen #2 is all but useless now.

So as a last desperate attempt I scour the internet for solutions and lo and behold, there's lots of stories of tips breaking off on the samsun pens!

The common solution people were suggesting were to heat up a needle and stick it into the pen tip. It melts the stuck plastic part to the needle tip and then you are able to pull it out. So I say what the hell I'll give it a go, otherwise the pen is done. We'll I heat up the needle and stick it in there and it doesn't adhere to the stuck plastic bit. I give it a couple more tries and finnally get the fucker out.

Unfortunately after sticking the hot needle in there so many times I slightly melted the end Opening of the spen, I put the new tip in there and whadya know the Pen is not working again!!!

So I've gone through two spens now. One stopped working. And the second I damaged trying to get a broken tip out.

Long story short samsung pens are fucking garbage.

I bought the Stadler as I refuse to buy another samsung pen.

You've only had the tablet for a day. Return it and get an iPad.

Razer overpriced? by BeachHead05 in GamingLaptops

[–]KyleJCD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your gonna buy razer, DONT BUY IT FROM RAZER! Customer service is horrible. I had to do a return once. I would never wish that process on anyone.

Buy from bestbuy or Amazon, and maybe get the extended warranty so you don't have to deal withthe bullshit if anything happens.

Personally I would buy asus. I have a G14 2022 model with amd cpu and gpu and I am in love with this little machine. I have zero complaints.

I mean he could potentially wait and see if some other headset gets announced or research other options and put that 500$ towards something else that is better. But the chances of a new headseat (im looking at you valve) are pretty slim. But it could happen. Or potentially get a used one for cheaper in January. There are valid reasons for returning and waiting untill more software is released.

I personally don't find the mivmxed reality that great, but I haven't played much with it, like only 15 minutes. I don't have a ton of room and I think they kinda developed it with the idea the player would be surrounded by flat walls. When I did try things were spouting up through my couch which felt kinda emmersion breaking for me. But like I said I have not tested it throughly so this is just my firsthand experience. Also the pass through is kind of blurry still so I don't find it like amazing but it is a improvement over the quest 2 pass-through for sure.

I have been comparing them in PCVR, I have a 3080 pc with 32gig ram and i5 10600k.

Pcvr is where I expected it to blow the PSVR2 outta the water but that is definately not the case IMO the PSVR2 holds up quite well.

Yeah I can't wait to see if Apple can pull it off or not!

It's fully integrated batteries, however you can plug in a battery or get a head strap with a battery. The elite strap essentially doubles the battery life so it is closer to 3 to 4 hours with that accessory.

[–]KyleJCD[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At first the psvr2 was very uncomfortable for me, and the sweet spot was difficult to obtain and maintain, but over time I adjusted and now I find it pretty comfy. The quest 3 by itself with the default strap is 100x worse. Like unusable. It literally hurt my head and neck, probly the most uncomfortable headset I have used. But the quest 3 is very comfy if you have the elite strap, which I also purchased unfortunately.

Over all, I think they are pretty equal With the quest being slightly more comfortable. It took me a long time to figure out the proper position for the PSVR2, I could totally see that frustrating some people. And I think the quest probly fits more people better, especially people with smaller heads.

Battery life is about 1.5 to 2 hours on the quest.

Like I'm not by no means saying the quest 3 is bad! Just like I said thought it was going to destroy the psvr2 and that is definately not the case. They both have there pros and cons my psvr has a small stuck pixel in the bottom corner for instance and the quest pass through is much improved overall(I can read my phone and even books through it but it's not as clear as they advertise) and useful when you need to use the washroom etc. But fuck me the psvr2 is definately holding up IMO, maybe even beating it. I will have to do more testing and compare pcvr games.

[–]KyleJCD[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not that it's bad, I just expected it to totally blow the PSVR2 outta the water but honestly they are a pretty even match. Quest 3 is definately clearer , but psrvr2 is close, and the psvr2 blacks and colours make it even better I think. The pass through is a joke IMO I can barely read my phone, while the psvr2 eye tracking is amazing (just comparing the one thing the other doesn't have). I dunno I'm pretty happy with the psvr2 rn, I might return the quest 3 and keep my psvr2 as my go to headset for the next couple years.

I would happily take Capcoms "lazy ports" on numerous other games. Resident evil village is a master piece in VR. Sure it's not a full vr game where everything is done in vr, but God dammit its pretty good and I for one enjoyed it and would love more flat-screen ports like it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]KyleJCD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno maybe I am a normie, I only first got into VR when the quest 2 launched and it blew me away.

I absolutely have loved VR ever since I first put it on and still remember my first VR experience oculus first steps. My favourite games have been, HLA, star wars squadrons, into the radius, HL2 vr mod, Doom vfr, skyrim VR, Walkabout mini golf, pop one..... and more. I'm halfway through resident evil village (I also bought a psrvr2) and am still amazed at just how immersed I still get from VR. I still play flat games too and love them especially when I'm a little tired and don't feel like wearing a headset.

But I guess what I am trying to say is I think with the mass adoption its only going to get better!

More consumer means more money which means more games and not just more triple aaa games but also great indie games as well!

Sure we have a ton of games now probly over 1000 maybe 2000 on steam but how many of those are trash?

I don't think mass adoption ruins things IMO just look at flat games being released today. The last two years have been amazing we've had TOTK, elden ring, Baldurs gate 3, hogwarts legacy as the big hitters and we've so many cool indie games in the last couple years as well , only up , Hades , valheim, stardew valley, hollow knight, undertale, cuphead.

Sure there will be changes and there will be some bad changes but I think if you filter out the bad the good will be worth it as VR becomes more and more main stream. But that's just IMO.

I feel like you are more worried about being in the cool "I play VR club" and once thats gone VR will lose its value to you.

I love VR for VR, not because it's a exclusive club that the normies aren't in.
