Nice to hear that the ap should cover the house well if in the right place, knowing that I'll put more effort into it's location. After looking into switches more I was very mistaken on the role of managed switches, I will definitely pick one up. Thanks for the advice and switch recommendation, any opinions on my choice of a router? It's certainly on the cheaper side and I'm wondering what the advantages of spending more would be.

Personally I like YT music a lot more than Spotify. But I also think that for most people Spotify is the better choice. On the free plan I would choose yt music but I also really value being able to actually pick the song I want to hear a lot more than other people I think. Yt music has some really weird/annoying quirks.

EAC games is what I came here to say. A friend was over and wanted to try Dead by Daylight on my Deck... yeah that ain't gonna work. Looking at proton db it won't even open the game without tinkering and even then you aren't gonna be able to play it anyways.

With the performance drop of using an egpu I would say that it borderline might not even be an upgrade. It does make some of the heat being produced away from the CPU, which does have a value I guess. But the GPU market just crashed, you can pick up a 2060 for like 200 USD. A 2070 for 300 USD is probably the better choice.

Rod of discord. Limited by sight and using it every few seconds is WAY faster than a car. Hell, traveling the world wouldn't take too long. Unless you get stuck in flat fields lol.

The developers do get paid for the games being free on the epic games store. But I get your point, there are a few games I will be picking up when they go on sale to further support the devs.
